I was browsing through the apollo 11 mission gallery at nasa.gov and I came across this picture, I don't know if it's a reflection or something..I apologize if this has been discussed before

What am i supposed to be looking at? Is it the light reflection at the side or the rectangular "box" shaped thing on the ground?

I've not seen that pic before, thanks for posting.

I'm referring to the rectangular looking object, if you look at it closely it looks more like a flat disk object with something on top.

Thanks for that.


I'm not too clued up about the other facts from the moon landing.

Is the lander actualy on the moon in that pic? If so, who took the pic and from what?

Could the box be something that the astronauts dropped just before their landing, like supplies or something?

Lol, as you can see, i know very little about all this.....quite embarrassing compared with what others know here.
