Nearly all my professors are Democrats. Isn't that a problem?

Not what I was trying to convey. Perhaps better phrasing could have been used. Point being: Liberals are more open minded when it comes to change and acceptance that their way of thinking could be wrong/need adjustment/etc. Republicans are more traditionalist and go against the grain when it comes to change/admitting they are wrong. Universities want their professors to liberal and open so that the next generation will have the opportunity to broaden their mind, not narrow it/keep it narrow.
.......

Liberals don't want to admit that their ideals come from true Socialism, and even Communism, and such ideals have transformed many countries into Socialist dictatorships.

Liberals are not as open minded as you claim. I am not the only person who has lived and experienced Communism to point this out in these forums, yet Liberals always dismiss and even demean the people who ahve experienced what Liberals beleive to be the best form of government.

You can even see the responses from Liberals posting in this thread, and for the most part nothing more than ignorance has been shown from most Liberals responding to this thread.

I hate to be contrite about this, but what do you expect?
The conservatives are either out making money or are trained from birth by their families to live within a narrow confine of slowly changing or non-changing rules. This makes the ideology VERY suitable to engineering and technical fields.

On the other hand, liberals are more free-wheeling and open minded. They will bounce around and try new things and explore new ideas. This makes them very good at teaching arts and literature and humanities, but not (necessarilly) very good at running businesses or teaching engineering.

These are, of course, generalizations. Also, in Math and Science fields, there is less opportunity to discussion personal ideologies and beliefs than there is in liberal studies.

Gotcha, thanks for clarification, and I can agree on that point. I also see this in the medical field. You don't want a very young, or a very old doctor. You don't want old tactics, or experimental ones. One right in the middle is good!

I think there are a lot more professors in the liberal arts categories, and it makes sense that they are more liberally minded. They also publish more papers, and get more press.

The science professors publish papers, but they are difficult to read or follow, and they don't make good mainstream press. These fields are also very technical and difficult, so they don't attract as many students.

Therefore, more liberal professors make perfect sense to me. I think the important thing, is that students are encouraged to make up their own minds. If that means breaking from their own tradition, fine, but it also means engaging in debates with perceived authority figures, and not taking their views or words as pure facts!

Also, if you want to know where the conservative profs. are, then look no further than the religious & private universities....they are teaming with them.

Democrats are saner and smarter than know-nothing republicans who are proud of their ignorance and social conservative values.

More republicans could teach at a university level, if any of them start believing in evolution and science

But hey I am sure you will love to do at least 3 months of MANDATORY military service if you are in College, not to mention you also have to do at least 100 hours of REQUIRED Community service every year...

But hey, I guess you are not intelligent enough to have the chance to CHOOSE what you want to do.

Not all, nor most Conservative professors allow religion to interfere with science, despite you claming the oposite.

Again, most Liberals/Democrats responding to this thread have shown nothing more than ignorant propaganda.

University educators are Democrat because the their teachers' union is Democrat.

Teachers, just like other unionized professions, like to vote themselves money. This doesn't make them fools, maybe greedy, but not fools.

I am proud to say that my professor is a Dr., and a Marxist. Lefter than the Left.

She may be the only one, but she has opened my eyes and I hope she keeps her job, opening eyes to the world and how politics really work.

I am surprised the article comes from Eugene, Oregon. We have plenty of Republicans here.

"Those who can't do, teach."
Enough said.

I do not feel it is by accident there is a liberal overload in public education and media. I also don't feel it's an accident there is conservative overload in the military, entrepreneurship, small business, and large business.

A lot of professors do consulting. Make no mistake, a good number of them are skilled in their work.

I don't think it's a surprise either, as those are like "bait" for reps. & dems. each taking the "bait" that they are naturally drawn towards.

Honestly, people.... Liberal or Conservative, has NOTHING to do with Republican and Democrat. Nothing.

So, stop assuming that Democrats must be Liberal. I will tell you, Republicans are NOT Conservative. Look at Bush years for an example.

The two are separate issues completely, spending habits and political views.

Reality has a well known liberal bias. How did you know I'm not American? Does my liberally biased intellect permeate so readily through my eloquence and lexicon?

Up until 2006, military service was mandatory where I live. And it was 12 month, not three. I myself went through recruitment but not actually incorporated because you got deferments or exemption if you were pursuing (higher) education or your employer couldn't spare you or you were providing for your family. Accession to the EU also meant an all-contract army.

Republicans aren't just dimwitted. They're cowards and chicken-hawks as well.

I feel soiled just responding to your tripe.

I agree. There is a big difference between "professors" and "teachers."

I have never seen a professor that was not thoroughly qualified and skilled in their field. They weren't always good teachers, but they always knew their stuff!

Again, nobody has caught on, but let's make a distinction between a Sociology Professor, and a Physics Professor. There is an obvious gap in their experiences and ideologies!

Really? And tell us, have you, or your professor actually experienced Marxism?...

In Socialism, and Communism the goal is to put the state before the individual, which means the rights of the individual can be taken away for the good of the State.

Have you even asked yourself why is it that every country which has embraced Marxism, or any form of Communism becomes a DICTATORSHIP?....

You see, people like you are indoctrinated, and brainwashed so much that even when you are shown the truth about your ideologies you don't believe the truth, and rather would believe "Marxism is great"...
