Alternative Energy Is Screwed

"Daniel Rice, manager at BlackRock Energy & Resources Fund rained all over the alternative energy parade on Tech Ticker. His main points of contention:

In the past ten years, the planet has cooled according to research by Dr. Judah Cohen, who Rice has on retainer. If this is a permanant trend, then the entire alternative energy industry is in big trouble. Hard to justify solar panels over coal if the planet isn't getting hot.

The cap and trade bill does little beyond provide Obama with an opportunity to tell the rest of the world that US cares about the environment.
Other than wind, alternative energy's economics don't work. "

Assuming what you have posted is true, it will not be the end of the Green Movement. It's out of the bottle, and there is no putting it back in.

If it does survive, it will be from a political drive, not a factual drive.

Doesn't sound like the earth has anything to do with it. Here's another piece, albeit dated.

You're absolutely correct.

What about one of the big big reasons for the renewable energy drive.. The fact that resources are getting scarce and will begin to get more and more expensive over the next century to the point that it will crash the planets economy unless we go green.

That to me is a bigger point for many politicians than climate change..
