its not just slowing, this was the coldest winter and summer in recent history! mars is showing the same activity! it has more to do with solar activity, and earth's motion. SOME with geothermal energy and 1% or less has anything to do with human activity. 97% of all greenhouse gas is water vapour. YES CLOUDS

else is just fearmongering for profit.

Al Gore is a genocidal fascist malthusian! he wants to profit from pollution and depopulate the rest of us! WWF is same agenda

There is a big difference between the Global wArming hoax, and CLimate Change... But of course people like you are so ignorant about this issue that you think both are one and the same...

An article from a NEWSPAPER that is known to spouse the GREEN agenda is no proof that mankind is the cause of Climate change...

Yes, NATURAL Climate Change has brought down past civilizations...including native American civilizations which were living off the land thousands of years ago, and even more recent around 1,200 A.D.... oh wait, unless they were using SUVs and then that's the reason they cause Climate Change....

According to archaeological finds, the city of Cahokia was inhabited from about A.D. 700 to 1400. At its peak, from A.D. 1100 to 1200, the city covered nearly six square miles. Houses were arranged in rows and around open plazas, and the main agricultural fields lay outside the city. The site is named for a subtribe of the Illini - the Cahokia - who occupied the area when the French arrived. Archaeological investigations and scientific tests have provided what is known of the once-thriving community.
The fate of the prehistoric Cahokians and their city is unknown. Depletion of resources probably contributed to the city's decline. A climate change after A.D. 1200 may have affected crop production and the plant and animal resources needed to sustain a large population. War, disease, social unrest, and declining political and economic power may have also taken their toll. A gradual decline in population began sometime after A.D. 1200, and by the 1400s, the site had been abandoned.

www.cr.nps.gov...

Climate Change has occurred many times, and even entire civilizations had to leave entire regions due to these Climate Changes. Many people suffere,d and many died because of this, and wars ensued between tribes trying to survive.

Natural Climate Change has happened many times in the past, and it is now also happening, but mankind has nothing to do with it.

You must be living in a box... Yes there were climate changes before... EVERYONE KNOWS THAT!
The point is that we are causing EVEN MORE harm than the natural cycle would have...

The concentration of Greenhouse gasses are the highest its been is 600000 years... 800 tonns per second due to human activity!

These gasses trap incoming solar radiation which obviously causes the temprature to increase!

You should motivating people to be protect the planet.

The only ones living in a box, and being spoonfed are people like you...

DEMONSTRATE that CO2 causes the warming claimed by the GREENs....

I am not asking for CLAIMS, but PROOF.....

Water vapour is more of a greenhouse gas than CO2...

There is evidence that the worldwide warming has been done mainly by ocean warming, and not by the increase in ghgs.

Abstract
Evidence is presented that the recent worldwide land warming has occurred largely in response to a worldwide warming of the oceans rather than as a direct response to increasing greenhouse gases (GHGs) over land.

Atmospheric model simulations of the last half-century with prescribed observed ocean temperature changes, but without prescribed GHG changes, account for most of the land warming. The oceanic influence has occurred through hydrodynamic-radiative teleconnections, primarily by moistening and warming the air over land and increasing the downward longwave radiation at the surface. The oceans may themselves have warmed from a combination of natural and anthropogenic influences.

www.cdc.noaa.gov...

BTW, even NASA confirms this...

Current warmth seems to be occurring nearly everywhere at the same time and is largest at high latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere. Over the last 50 years, the largest annual and seasonal warmings have occurred in Alaska, Siberia and the Antarctic Peninsula. Most ocean areas have warmed. Because these areas are remote and far away from major cities, it is clear to climatologists that the warming is not due to the influence of pollution from urban areas.

So keep living in your box, and drinking the lies mixed in the koolaid people like you keep drinking...

You just admitted that CO2 is a greenhouse gas! What do you think that means? That it smells nice????

www.realclimate.org...

Is it enough proof when a professor in Geosciences tells you so?

You could also build a biodome and experiment for yourself?!?

What do you expect?

Some of these loons don't think that animals adapting to changing conditions is evolution either.

Americans are so incredibly ignorant of what science is and is not that they think all they have to do is sound like "science" makes it so.

consumerism is a tacky excuse for a culture anyway.

If climate change doesn't get us...population outstripping food production will (brought down many a civilization in the past) and if that doesn't do it depleting our resources will...

And failing that wallowing in our own wastes aka pollution will do the trick...

Its just a question of when and how...

BUT the next big question is what comes after?

www.in dependent.co.uk
(visit the link for the full news article)

I agree consumerism is not sustainable, but we know how to
do sustainable, we just don't have the willpower.

We do not need giant water treatment plants to filter our water
to turn around use it to flush our toilets or wash our clothes.

Rain water cachement would suffice.

We don't need giant manicured lawns that are mowed once a week
to putting green perfection, burning millions of gallons of gas.

We don't "need" Mc Mansions, or Hummers that never go off road.

The food problem we know how to avert with many times the
current world's population, simply put rabbits.

en.wikipedia.org...

If the two most common disease they have are cured via an additive
in their water like is currently done for chickens then, problem solved.

Also it seems bird flu doesn't affect rabbits, but Tularemia does
but can be dealt with.

en.wikipedia.org...

Additionally we have complete plant proteins we could use as food
and they store longer with no preservatives needed, like
Giant Golden Amaranth, and I pick Giant Golden as it makes a
pound of seed per plant roughly.

en.wikipedia.org...

The plant is so tough it is one of the few that can resist roundup naturally.

Sun flowers grow well in hot dry climates as well also.

As for depleting resources, we can live within our means, true
recycling can be done instead of making things like Mount Trashmore.

en.wikipedia.org...

Composting is another solution to our food woes.

It is covered in great detail on google video in the film
"How to save the World".

With composting we could prevent the massive fertilizer run
offs from causing problems with the rivers.

Pollution often is linked back to oil, if we can get rid of oil and
go organic on pesticides and herbicides we can do a lot to lower
pollution.

Dropping coal would be a good next step once we have something setup
to replace them.

For oil this method is a few decades off due to scaling it up,
and no will power to implement it as of yet.

en.wikipedia.org...

Climate change worse than we are seeing now has hit the earth before,
and it will again.

During the glacial ice age the entire great lakes area was under ice.

If our civilization had come about during an Ice Age and it started
getting warmer we'd really think it was the end of the world.

I tend to think that the Holocene maximum was warmer then than
it is now, and the ice core data points to that.

en.wikipedia.org...

Also with the current warming we saw parallel warming and retreat
of the ice caps on Mars, thus "some" of it is being caused by the sun.

If we are not careful though another Anoxic event could occur,
and we are seeing signs of it in the ocean now with 20% of the
world's coral dying off.

en.wikipedia.org...

We are polluting the planet, and Codex Alimentarius is to be passed
by our so called beloved politicians brings back 5 of the persistent
poisons into the food chain and water supply.

www.youtube.com...

Yet you will find no outcry against Codex except for a rag tag band of
ppl that are labelled as nutters even though they have Phds...

What we are seeing is a Psy Op, and they are wanting you to believe what
they pump out via the mass media, while some of it is true, some of
it is not true, and they use truths and half truths to support their lies.

They learned this from Machiavelli and credit him in "limits to growth"
as their teacher of manipulation and deceit.

These ppl who wrote Ecoscience, the Georgia Guidestones, and
Limits to Growth are of the same mind as the group that stood
and gave a standing ovation to a man who called for the genocide
of 90% of humans on earth.

en.wikipedia.org...

Ppl do not realize that we are being played as pawns for an endgame
that is beyond the imaging of most of the ppl on the planet.

Prepare accordingly !

Good Luck to you all !

The point is that we are causing EVEN MORE harm than the natural cycle would have...

Actually - when you look at historical temperatures, something becomes apparent. The temperatures we are seeing today are completely normal.

The concentration of Greenhouse gasses are the highest its been is 600000 years... 800 tonns per second due to human activity!

600,000 plus years ago temperatures were lower than they are today.

You should motivating people to be protect the planet.

So should you.

If climate change doesn't get us...population outstripping food production will (brought down many a civilization in the past) and if that doesn't do it depleting our resources will...

And failing that wallowing in our own wastes aka pollution will do the trick...

That was first said 150 years ago. How did they want to fix it? By killing the poor.

What do you expect?

Some of these loons don't think that animals adapting to changing conditions is evolution either.

Americans are so incredibly ignorant of what science is and is not that they think all they have to do is sound like "science" makes it so.

Would you call me a loon? Serious question.

No one ever said the warming of the planet would be even or consistent just that the overall average would rise, which it has.

1. Why was most of the warming pre 1940 (post war boom)?
2. Why did temperatures go down during the post war boom?
3. Why did temperatures begin to rise again during the 1970's recession.
4. Why have temperatures been going down since 1998?
