As of Fridays Gallup Poll 50% of us fell the economy is getting worse..62% think things are getting worse...On average we spend $30 less per week than one year ago...

Nice to know I'm not alone in my beliefs

PRINCETON, NJ -- More Americans may be getting impatient about the prospects for an economic recovery. The percentage saying economic conditions are "getting better" dropped four percentage points from the prior week to 31% and is now down seven points from a month ago. Consumer spending -- flat over the past several weeks -- is down 32% from the same week a year ago.

I often wonder where these polls get their numbers from.
How many people polled and was it all on one street corner, that sort of thing.

The USA Today poll was from the end of May, so it is interesting to see how peoples opinions have changed in a month and a half.

I wonder if they still believe things will be better next summer?

Good post as usual

I could be wrong but if I remember right the folks who sign up for the Gallup Poll are like those who sign up to Nilsson Ratings they get regular e-mails/snail mailings and depending on age and demographics get different questions... I had a boss who did that but I never got into detail with him on the mechanics
