From this article
'Car czar' Rattner steps down after five months

Steven Rattner, head of President Obama's task force on restructuring the auto industry, is stepping down after seeing General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC enter and emerge from bankruptcy proceedings during his five-month tenure.

This is kind of weird. Only 5 months on the job? Does he think that now that GM is out of bankrupcy that the auto industry is ok again? Why even say they are out of bankrupcy when...

Although the companies are out of formal bankruptcy proceedings, GM and Chrysler both have years of work ahead, and it's unclear when the firms will be able to repay the federal government.

Maybe the real reason the "car-czar" was brought on was because

He has also been a significant Democratic donor and fundraiser.

Heh, they need to get him on board a semi car carrier with a big banner reading "Mission Accomplished" and surrounded by car dealers to officially announce his resignation.

I personally feel that trouble is coming down the road for him and this will help ease any problems at the white house over it.

Either Rattner and everyone else in the administration believe that his work with Chrysler and General Motors' bankruptcies is well and truly done, or the man has something worse than his wife's DWI, his involvement with the pension scandal, and Chooch in his closet.

nymag.com...

If trouble does find Rattner, I have to give an A+ to Obama and gang for getting rid of him in time.
