La bete du Gevaudan is the rule for measuring what is a "werewolf." Many of the aspects of these supernatural creatures were taken directly from
the prefecture (police) reports of her actions and behavior. This being had as many as twenty thousand hunters seeking her at the same time. To
really get a grasp of "La bete," one really needs to watch the Michigan dogman video, also known as the Gable film.

The Beast Of Gevaudan occured 240 years ago between 1764 untill 1767,prowled in the Provence of Gevaudan France (now Lozère/Auvergne area).
Responsible for killing over 100 men, women and children. Every effort to stop this beast failed,King Louis XVI - took a personal interest in this
case and decided that some of his troops(hunters) should dress up in women to act like bait,under the control of Captain Duhamel. The hunters had
encounters with the beast and fired at it, but the beast always managed to escape.

Also to get a twist on the occurrences of that time period, ATSer's should watch the movie Brotherhood of the Wolf. It is a great movie, slow in the begining but starts to really move about halfway through. It's probably not exactally like the incident's of that time, and beast, but it's pretty darn close. Also thow's some conspiracy theory in there. I loved it.

Hey debris,
I put the Gable Film on this sight last night. One guy replied and said that animal in the film had been identified as an Olive Baboon. Not some mystical creature, but hey what do I know. I never heard of the Michigan Dog Man until watching the news clip from Shawn Hannity.
