They have been shown all over the world, but could the photos of alleged rapes and torture of Iraqi prisoners by hand of the coalition forces be just a fake?

Northeast Intelligence Network

"7 May 2004 - Arabic Language Jihadi Retract Faked Rape Photos

In the past few days, a number of postings have been made on the Arabic language jihadi websites urging all followers to stop passing around the photos that were alleged to show US servicemen raping Iraqi women. The photos were staged. They were actually taken from a porn flick, and were released in a deliberate attempt to inflame both US and Arab public opinion against the coalition forces."

Could the photos have been staged to inflame public opinion against the coalition forces? It seems to be very possible. After the U.S and other coalition forces were investigating this and supposedly some arrests were done, it seems that now Arabic language jihadi websites are urging their followers to stop posting more photos.

There also seems to be a war been fought between tabloid news as to the authenticity of these photos. The Daily Mirror which was the first one to run the story says they still stand by it, even thou other news are saying that these photos are obviously a fake. (See link below under "Tabloid war erupts in the UK over prisoner photos")

A couple of members of ATS first reported their suspicions as to the photos being fakes, but i could not find the post and give credit to these members.

Yes, indeed. The rape photos are fakes, and the photos in the Daily Mirrior are still under question. Quite a few of the others are real, but there are sure to be some forged photos out there to stir up tension.

That said. This story was posted a couple of days ago.

I am one of those members who mentioned something about the photos being possible fakes or even edited. I have caught some hell for even suggesting such an idea too!! On a conspiracy site no less, go figure.

Anyway, here is a link to what I am talking about.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

There are a couple other members that I know of who also thought they may be fakes as well, but I will let them present themselves on their own if they wish.

This is the first place I made my post. Same post, but a differnet thread of opinions.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

EDIT: oh yeah, one more thing. Before anyone jumps on my case again, let me repeat that just because I made posts like this, doesn't mean that I still don't believe that some of the photos are real.

What is interesting however, is that the reason given in this new article is that they were made to cause Anger and Chaos between the U.S. and Iraq. That was the same theory I came up with too!!

Referring to photos of sexual and physical abuse that have drawn worldwide condemnation, Rumsfeld warned there are "a lot more photographs and videos" that haven't yet been seen. "If these are released to the public, obviously it's going to make matters worse."

ap.tbo.com...

again I don't think these pics are fake, Rumsfeld would be the first to say so, since his ass is now on the line.

That was interesting watching and listening to him today talking about the 'Other' pictures and videos that have yet come in to public view.

I mean can you imagine how bad they must be?? He looked depressed and almost in a daze when he said it. Plus the fact that he kinda hinted a couple time about stepping down from his position. I wonder if some of them could really be that bad???

worldwatcher and others:

This is going to be a hive of disinformation unless you get absolutely clear what you are talking about.

There are at least three sets of photographs:

1. Abuse of Iraqi detainees and prisoners (male) by American military and contractors. This scenario is true and shocking. Rumsfeld has already fumbled his way through a Congressional hearing on it, and there is much much worse to come for the Bush admin on it.

2. Black and white photographs published by the UK Daily Mirror of alleged abuse (urination on, etc) of Iraqi captives by British military.

3. Photos of forced group sex scenes depicting men in uniform with women of Middle Eastern appearance, which have been found to have come from the porn industry.

Members really need to sort out their act on this. I have noticed some who clearly know the difference, who obfuscate and try to defend the American military and the Bush admin's performance in Iraq by blurring the boundaries between these different things in order to confuse naive members. I didn't like seeing that.

MA to make it clear, I was and am still referring to option 1, the pics of naked iraqis in pyramids with hoods, on leashes, tied to beds, etc with ms england and mr granger in the pics.

option 2, I have seen only a few times and didn't study them closely, but someone is definitely pissing on someone in those pics

as for option 3, i don't visit porno sites and have not seen any of those pics.

Do you think it possible that the porn industry may be capitalizing on the opportunity by taking out of context (and country) pictures? Could that be possible?

hmmm now that is an intriguing thought...perhaps these soldiers in #1 were involved to make money from the porn industry, lots of sadistic people out there, that could have been the motive for that type of abuse?

but I think it was more corruption of power. guns, companions, invasion, war, empowers people to do things they wouldn't have normally done.

Okay I'll say #3 is fake, even though I didn't look at them personally

However the #1 set of pics definitely are pictures of real abuse.

#2, I just don't know, some are saying the uniforms or guns don't fit, so it may not be soldiers but it could be mercenaries not working with the military committing those acts?

i think we should be clear now on where i stand.

What bothers me the most with this, is that people want to see these photos when they "know" they are showing brave and often religious men being humiliated in these manners described. I am horrified just from reading about it. And what bothers me even more, is that as soon as these pictures are declared fakes, and set up porn pictures created using actors, people will want to see them even more. And then what? The only question remaining would then be: "Would I have to be completely baffled from seeing that when they have all seen it, that it would become apparent these pictures were infact real afterall?"

Knowing that many of the prisoners who are supposed to have suffered this know God, and would rather die than being treated like this, it really breaks my heart. No matter who they might be or what they might have done. And now knowing that the people who stand accused of this, may never have done it in the first place, well, that makes what's left of the broken heart into burning steel.

These are truly the most disturbing pictures I have ever seen .
What could they possibly achieve by interrogating Prisoners of War through acts of humiliation, moreover what information could these prisoners have that could not be obtained by other means .
WTF is this World coming too!!!!!
I think this is just more Shock & Awe, desensitizing of the public.

These photo's many are real, but some are fake. They will try to prove that they're all fake. This is an attempt to make Bush look bad, so Kerry can get in.

my idea is better to take make another copy of that photo and send it to all the expertise to see the result let say how about asking some from germany, japan, french and maybe from asia so there will never been asking afterward.i want to see the result not the hearsays from the US expertise alone.that a real
waste of time to see another coverup by this us intel side story. i m a muslim love the us people but not the us foreign policies understand this please never twist the same propaganda again like this what always i seen in the internet and the news everyday people aroud the world HATE the america, american or US.
WE ONLY HATE THE AMERICAN FORIEGN POLICIES TOWARD OTHER COUNTRY need another repeats again
if anyone need repeatation just ask me i have plenty of time to type that word again

While I do not condone the type of behavior shown in any of these pictures, I know the behavior exhibited is not new. I'm sure mankind has psychological and physically abused mankind wince mankind figured out how it demoralized the injured party. Child abuse, spouse abuse, date rape, and many other abuses heaped upon groups and individuals throughtout history.
We act as if they abuse captured on film was happening for the first time. If convicted of wrongdoing, these people should be punished. No doubt about it.

I think some perspective is needed here.

The only thing I can't fathom is, what kind of idiot would take pictures, that will obvously leave a trail. It really makes me wonder if any of these are real.

OK.

The pictures in category (1) from my post above, are taken and get into the hands of MI investigating MP.

A detailed report is written and presented that verifies the abuses. Rumsfeld is grilled by an enquiry on national television broadcast live and takes responsibility.

And people come to this thread on ATS to question whether any of the pictures are real.

Given just the information contained in this thread above, is ATS doing its job?

If the pics were take with digital cameras, mikro, then no one would need to develop them. I print out shots of my son and wife from a digicam all the time.. from home in my office. No need to send it to the onehour photo mart.
