I loved all of your post. It is good to go to BOTH sides of political media and then decide for yourself, not just ONE place that says they will present both sides and you decide which of their presentations you like. I would agree with you about Thom Hartmann.

You inspire me to never give up on making capitalism do its best work, when it works best FOR ALL. I will do it for your daughter's future. I inherited a world from my parents, you and my sons are inheriting a world from my generation, and your generation has the opportunity to continue the fight to make America work best for ALL citizens.

Keep this thread alive. I will post more later.

Thanks desert...I do appreciate the kind comments....and I do agree with you.

I really wish more of the "Conservative" ATSers would comment on this thread...but they are either choosing to ignore it or flat out not reply. Why? Do they think I'm full of it? Or are they afraid that it will taint their own political argument and standing? Why don't people question their own political standing and see who is benefiting from what they believe in?

and,

Don't they realize that their beliefs cannot and will not work until we only make government accountable to people and not companies?

Do they know that the health insurance industry is spending 1.3 million dollars A DAY lobbying Washington politicians? And this doesn't even include the money they've used for advertising on television, radio, etc.

Think about this for a second. How many people could have received treatment with this money? How many people could have had their medical bills paid with this money?

Republicans/Conservatives are right now basically supporting corporate power not realizing the ramifications of doing so. They are afraid of big government...yet that is the tool being used by the corporate elite. Big government is a symptom of overly powerful business which can sway most any vote.

Obama is not immune to this either and I really wish people would shut up about the socialism nonsense as that is what DEMOCRATS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE....Socialist!! People need to quit railing on crap that makes them look stupid and go after the things that are without a doubt TRUE.

Capitalism can work...but it cannot be allowed to run our government....EVER.

So where are you conservatives? I'd love to see more comments.

You understand. You have hit the nail on the head. I do disagree on one point, the one about Democrats being socialists. True, that socialism on the political spectrum is associated with the left, but not all democrats are socialists. The Democratic Party is NOT a socialist party. Are there Social Democrats? Yes, a separate group from the DP.

Traditionally, the Republican Party was the party associated with business interests and the DP was the party of the working man, and IMO the accusation that the DP is a den of socialists stems from their political rival's corporate association. IOW it is the RP calling the DP "socialists", not the DP calling themselves socialists.

In fact, here is how I see the corporate connection to these town hall meetings...
former RP politicians who were influenced by corporation while in office, left office to start their own activists/info organizations to influence citizens to support corporations (whether these citizens knew this or not), whereby these citizens "activated" by these organizations go out into the community to shout what the corporations want them to shout.

corporations--politicians--politicians leave office to found organizations aligned with corporate influence--organizations influence citizens to align themselves with corporate interests--circle of influence complete

Whenever politicians talk about citizens as "consumers", "stakeholders", or other business language...shout back, "I'm a citizen!"

Capitalism works best when it works for all. Corporations made sure capitalism worked best for them only (by gaining control of govt), and now citizens must fight to take control back. Do we not want capitalism to succeed? Or do we allow it (and we the people) to be treated as merely the door mat to be walked on by corporations as they conduct business.

Support corporations by your money, not your vote.

Very good point. I'm a libertarian that leans to socialistic forms of government. I want my government to worry about it's own people, and it can fund social programs without taxing it's citizen's on their income by cutting spending and regulating fraud perpetuated by corporations that seek to reap huge profits at the expense of the citizens

.....or is it
.... Republican Senator Grassley speaking in the senate about how the August "public backlash" was proof that citizens want corporations to still be in charge of health care.

He knows, or if he doesn't he's ignorant and shouldn't be a senator, that those demonstrations were staged by pro-corporate backers!

Senator Grassley, "You lie!"

What I don't understand is that people were protesting before this about government spending..which to me is a legitamite gripe...and many protesting the Federal reserve as I've seen countless signs...but somehow it's morphed into anti-government healthcare?

I just hope that people realize that CEO's making BILLIONS of dollars off of death is not humane whatsoever. I don't understand why everyone suddenly sides with them....I've never known a soul that actually LIKED insurance companies unless they are getting large sums of money from them.

The health insurance companies are nothing but a LITERAL LEECH on human blood. There is no other way to put it.

And I'm not hammering employees who work for insurance companies...they are doing what they are told to earn a living. What I don't like are the CEO's and STOCKHOLDERS who only care about profits and how to make a quick mil.

It's the same that happened with NAFTA. My old company relocated to Mexico. Why? It wasn't because we weren't profiting and doing a good job. NO NO...it was because the GD stock holders could profit from the stock price increases due to the cheaper labor costs.

It's BS man. I'm all for the COnstitution and the people of this country. I am not for for Rich elite aholes sapping all of the money, wealth, and good will of those...which btw...is 99.99 percent of the entire country.

I don't think things are going to change anytime soon. For awhile, when things looked grim and everyoen was unsure of what might happen, I thought things could change...although I do have some hope with the Federal Reserve.

I have not payed much attention to the news lately...I just get angry anymore. Most people don't have a chance...nor a real choice.

Le'ts hope the best for our kids Desert...they deserve better than the mess we are leaving them.

Dear silent thunder,

Where might I purchase one of your flags? Whenever I salute the current flag, my ceremony seems so hollow. Some of my fellow Americans probably hate the USA anyway, as they no longer want to even try to form a more perfect union, no longer want to be indivisible, but want to secede.

Anyway, I would like others to salute the new corporate flag. Afterall, I want to be a good corporate citizen. I want it to inspire others, especially the younger generation, that in America, anyone can grow up to be a corporate lobbyist and go to Washington, D.C. to make sure that govt works for them!

Hey, here's a new salute, too!

I pledge allegiance to the flag
Of the Corporate States of America.
And to the corporations, for which it stands,
One economy, under un-Godly profit,
With no regulation for corporations, and unjustice for all citizens.

Sign me,

Screw the Little People!

I agree also. Starred and Flagged. Corporatism is a word I had not heard before, but I like it, it fits. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck....you know the saying. I too discovered that the UNITED SATES was nothing but a corporation in the sole business of making money by any means possible. WE the People are a Commodity, to be traded on the open market, we are each worth about $650,000 at birth. A Strawman is created who owes the government a lot of fake money, while the real, flesh and blood human being is made to suffer for this.

Look in the mirror and stare at myself
And wonder if that's really me on the shelf

(This Song Has No Title - Elton John)

We all live in a created reality made by them who control us by manipulating our economy and dumbing us down with electronic low frequency waves, and mind controlling us with microwave emitting devices, television, media in general, book and magazines, and a false system of law is made to cover this all up nice and neat, this is called "Statutory Law," and you are forced to adhere to, or face jail and fines. What our controllers do not realize, or maybe they do, is that they too are controlled, by extraterrestrial beings who operate in the Fourth Dimension.

I guess what I am trying to say is that it is time to wake up. We are so close to a global event that will instantly kill the greatest part of us, and force us into the Spirit World all at one time. At that point, something will happen. I am not sure what, but I think it will be some kind of religious thing, drawing on depictions of religious figures who will beacon us....but! here will be our chance to become. Think about that word for a second:
Become. Here is another word with Great Meaning: Unity. TPTB seek to divide and conquer us, and they do anything to make this happen. See this for what it is..control, nothing more or less. Aren't we all tired of being controlled all the time?
I think for the most part we would like to live in a world where there was no wars, no hunger, no wanting for anything. A world ruled by Love.

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

(Age of Aquarius - The 5th. Dimension)

Only we together can do this. I would say if 2/3 of humanity really wanted something, there would not be anything to prevent that from happening. We are the POWER! It is not a human thing, either, it is a Spiritual thing instead. On a Spiritual level, leaving religious dogma and fear far behind, we are all alike. There are 12 Spirit Tribes. This is reflected in Astronomy and religion, even Jesus had twelve followers. We are children of a Higher Order.

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

(Imagine - John Lennon)

And.....

The spins, no, the lies, continue .... unions and citizen groups (REAL citizen groups, not groups formed to push for corporate interests antithetical to citizen interest) will be on equal footing with corporations .... NO! (International) corporate money will bleed citizen coffers dry! ... Corporations are made up of individuals just like unions and Sierra Club....makes about as much sense as saying a commercial building has toilets just like an apartment.

Yes it is official now. Corporations are people, except they cannot be put into jail. That means they have to pay for their mistakes in dollars and can keep operating. When all social programs in America seem to benefit the corporation first, and the citizen last one has to wonder who controls this country.

I have came up with a new name I am referring to our government with.

The United Socialist/Fascist/Corporatist States of the Rockefellers and Morgans. The US SFCS of the R&M's

You could say our system has become one of the most bizarre entity that anyone could have imagined.

Socialist-SS, Medicare, Welfare, etc

Fascist-Either entrenched ownership of businesses or the control of businesses

Corporatist-Corporations regulating themselves, writing regulations, purchasing politicians, banks taxing through inflation, banks controlling the economy etc

We have become the Roman Empire just before the fall.
