"Tyrone," and his co-conspirators used Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) software to set up large conference calls in which participants paid money to witness police reaction to the non-existent emergency online in real time

A 16-year-old American was indicted for his role in transmitting via Internet several bomb threats against US universities, high schools and FBI offices, the Department of Justice said Wednesday.

What an idiot! This kid was charging pople to listen in on him making bomb threats! You have to be pretty dumb to attempt this.

"The three-charge indictment "also alleges that as part of the conspiracy, conspirators offered, for a nominal fee, to make bomb threat calls -- often to high schools -- to cause closures," the Justice Department statement said."

Whoever was offering him money needs to be taken down too.

Kids these days have a twisted sense of how to make money online, but to think that he could hide behind a voip is plain idiotic not to mention that he was connecting from his static ip.

What ever happened to meeting friends after school and going out trying to find some woman or just hanging out and having fun.

Obviously times have changed.
