Cosmetic surgery gives you the appearance of being something you're not, but a simple blood test can still determine if you're a woman, or African. There are no blood test to determine if your a homosexual. It's just a mental state of being. Homosexuality has nothing to do with biology. It's pure psychology. That is why you can't pass laws prohibiting discriimiation of homosexual behavior in public.

From the American Psychological Association

Sexual orientation is distinct from other components of sex and gender, including biological sex

There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors.

If a man and women can, why can't a man and man? I know many find the gross, but that isn't a good reason. An ugly man kissing an ugly women is pretty gross as well and I find the sight disturbing (or two ugly men or two ugly women for that matter), but that's not a reason to ban PDA. Quit staring generally works pretty well. Remove your eyes instead of removing the person.

And honestly, how can you always tell what gender a person is simply by looking at them. I've seen manly looking females and men that look like females. Should a man in drag not be able to kiss a women, since it looks like two women are kissing? Look at Chris Crocker, he looks like a fine women when he wants to be, is that ok for him to kiss a guy since most people would think "he" is actually a "she"?

Are we really going to inspect peoples' genitailia every time they go outside and want to kiss? "Excuse me granny, I can't tell if you're a man or women and I find you kissing that man disturbing if you are indeed a man, please allow me to lift up your blouse so I can throughly inspect to see if your genitalia aligns with my psychology".

That is a stunningly bigoted statement. So you are equating homosexuality to being alcoholic, fat, lazy and aggressive are you? Why not throw in child abuser, paedophile while you are at it…or rapist and murderer? I think you will find that most perversions, aggressions and oppressions are enacted by the heterosexual community.
If you think it is a choice and a mental state of mind then you may find yourself coming back in the next life gay just so you get to understand…lol

By the way you just forced yourself up a back alley. You quote that science cannot determine…there is no consensus….they cannot conclude that sexuality is determined by any particular factor or factors….
That means ‘they don’t know’….therefore a sensible conclusion would be that it is biological.

"I think blacks should be allowed to own land but do they have to talk about it while I am eating dinner and wear t-shirts showing blacks owning land?"

You are not born Gay anymore than you are born with the knowledge to understand the internal workings of an electric motor or a car engine. You learn it!! You learn to be Gay as a boy when Gay men manipulate and entice you into their paraphilic lifestyle.

Gays have the same right to vote as women do.

Gays have the same right to own land as black people do.

Making those comparisons is completely wrong.

FBI stats show that 95% of serial killers are homosexual. For 2% of the population being so over represented in the serial killer stats I don't see how you can blame hetero sexual for the oppression. On a percent of population basis the Gays win hands down in the oppression category.

Well, assuming your a guy here, have you ever kissed your girlfriend/wife in public? There's no need of you kissing in the middle of a restaurant now how rude and nasty!

If you don't like it, look away. From what I could tell they had a quick greeting kiss, and as another poster stated they were "not going at it for 6 hours".

I can say from experience, my children had no more problem with an explanation when they were little and saw a same sex couple giving a greeting kiss as when they asked about heterosexual couples giving a greeting kiss. What did I tell them? That people can love each other no matter what sex they are.

OMG my children have not become "gay" nor have they been traumatized. I have taught my children that certain actions in public are not meant for public, they are meant for privacy. Including going at it hot and heavy in public. A kiss of greeting though, highly appropriate. Holding hands? yes, again appropriate.

Personally I see children being traumatized by how their parents react to such a situation. Children are not born being biased, they are taught to be biased by those they look up to, such as parents, grandparents etc. Thank goodness children CAN grow up to form their own opinions.

Harm None
Peace

Then how come when one identical twin is gay (separated at birth), 30% of the time the other will be gay as well. That's much higher than if it were statistically random. Please, lets not be brain-numb here...I know some of you choose that, and that's your lifestyle choice, but that doesn't mean it has to be everyone's.

What have they done to my Chicos Tacos?
The food staple of El Paso, my home town.
Nothing like a double order with green chili sauce, fries and a drink at 2 AM.

Guess this man to man stuff is everywhere now so I won't blame it on the government cheese.

Where do you get your stats?
I am not being brain-numb, nor am I brainwashed by Gay propaganda.
Sometimes kids have no choice, because they get enticed, manipulated, and recruited into the "Lifestyle" at a young age by older Gay men.

Gays do not procreate, they recruit, they are not born into it, they are introduced to it....period!

DBates I completely AGREE with you 100% that homosexuality is mental and not physical. You are right about it being all in the mind.

But that is to not say that it could not be that the instinct is to procreate with the same gender. And instinct is something you ARE born with.

I mean no one needs to tell people to have sex they just do it from birth. Maybe it is the same way with gay and lesbian? It is not like people are going around in a secret conspiracy cabal and sending certain kids gay hypnotism videos. This is something they are born with and have trouble dealing with because it is not accepted.

But if we are going to change people to not have sex with someone of the same sex then we should change people to not have sex for pleasure at ALL and to ONLY have sex when you have the absolute intention of creating a child.

No more sex for pleasure.

Let us look at sexual fetishes.

People do not pick up a catalog and say "Wow what do I want to be....let me see...oh foot fetish is nice...Leather fetish looks pretty good...OOOHHH BALLON PORN!"

You do not get to choose! it just happens!

I mean crap our most populated religions tell people they will burn in hell for damnation for how they are. Kind of repressive wouldn't you think?

If I was gay and in a religious household I would sure as heck not reveal it to anyone in my family.

I think we should let homosexuals do whatever they want. Get married, make out in public, have sex in public, make babies with whatever body part they can scrape a little DNA from... Anything. We have repressed them for years so now its there time to shine.

You realize that the word "Anything" covers having sex with children. Don't you? I am all for homosexuals abiding by the law and having the same protection as heterosexuals under the law. I am not for letting them do anything, anytime, anywhere. Heterosexuals are not allowed to do that, why would homos be any different?

Your ignorance about gay people is almost amusing. As an awful lot of gay people know they are gay or at least 'different' at a very early age, some at 5 yrs old, are you saying they were all abused...lol As most also endure their formative years knowing not one single other person who is gay, then that renders your argument useless. As gay people are not represented in the media it cannot be brainwashing. However as you seem to think people are so easily brainwashed in something as basic as their natural sexuality, then by your own argument it could be said that heterosexuals are only heterosexual because of the bombardment of imagery that they grew up with and learnt that behaviour. And as it seems to bother some so much one could only assume that this is because of a repression of their natural sexuality...lol

Doesn't change the fact that some people still believe in an old fashioned thing called decency. That is why they have such places at San Francisco; you know from the git go if you are going to live there you live by the homosexual mores, not heterosexual. But El Paso is a LONG way from San Fran.

I am a totally straight guy and I have no problem with what some may label "indecent." If people show their love with a peck in public, I see nothing indecent about it. People need to realize, we are becoming much more diverse. I just saw this on my 12 o'clock news, people were protesting outside of this place. I am glad to see that, because the police did not go by the book.

You're missing the obvious. Same sex intimacy is considered deviant (as in the Chico's Tacos incident) because homosexual activities NEVER produce offspring. While natural male/female couples may have sex with no intention of having children, it is possible that they will have children.

Look at the whole range of options. Seeing a newly-wed couple kiss at a Chico's Tacos would produce a series of smiles, and "awww that's sweet" replies from the patrons. Seeing a middle aged couple do the same might not get the same response. Seeing an old couple kiss might be sweet, but only in light of the reflection of their history. Seeing a homosexual couple kiss would never inspire such a response.

We as humans recognize that while the young couple are acting out on a selfish emotion, they could in the near future have children from their courtship. That benefits society. A middle aged couple kissing doesn't imply the same idea of fertility but they may be raising, or could be thinking of raising children. The older couple kissing inspires thoughts of children, and grandchildren and what their extended family might be like. Homosexual kissing is a dead end. They will not have children, so the whole scenario is nothing that would benefit anyone other than the two involved. As a result, we don't want to know about it or see it.

If you tell me you're going to the store and you'll pick me up a candy bar, I'll welcome the news. If you're just going to buy something for yourself, please just keep the news to yourself. No one wants to hear what only benefits you personally.

Hmm...are the children safe now...I doubt it...

The link between pedophilia and homosexuality is completely unfounded. A 1998 article in the Journal of the American Medical Association notes one study that determined that 90 percent of pedophiles are men, and that 98 percent of these individuals are heterosexual. Michael Stevenson, Ph.D., a psychologist at Ball State University, explains this statistic by noting that "gay men desire consensual sexual relations with other adult men. Pedophiles are usually adult men who are sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children. They are rarely sexually attracted to other adults." Stevenson observes that cases of pedophilia by adult lesbians are "almost non-existent." Two other major studies that examined the sexual orientation of convicted child molesters found that less than 1 percent in one study and 0 percent in the other were lesbian or gay. These studies were published in Pediatrics and Archives of Sexual Behavior, respectively, two peer-reviewed, widely respected academic journals.

These threads are always the same. And every time I see one of them I'm reminded that people who think they know anything and everything.

Actually I don't really have the energy to go down this road... again... so I'll keep it short.

Homosexuality is NOT a choice. And any person that says otherwise clearly has no understanding or knowledge of a homosexual person. Sure, they think they have, and they will argue as if they have. But they don't

Imagine a little boy sitting on his bed just thinking all kinds of stuff... A thought pops into his head. "hey, let's try something new. let's be attracted to boys. That should be fun... Years of prejudice towards me. Always the possibility of being beaten to near death by a homophobe... Disappointing my parents... Sure, they'll still love me - even if they reject me for a couple of months - but they'll always feel guilty and wonder where they went wrong. Yes! Homosexuality! By golly, that's a wise choice!"

Yes, every single day there are heterosexual people all over the world make the conscious decision of being homosexual.

How absurd.

That said - I don't have a problem with people kissing in public. Yes, some people go overboard with the kissing, and they really need to get a room. But if the moment requires a quick kiss... Why not?

BUT nearly everywhere you go you'll notice a small sign above the door, or at the bottom of the menu... or where ever. "Management Reserve Right of Admission". It's basically it gives the owner of that property the right to give access to whomever he wants to. Or in other words kick someone out. Be it because of kissing, colour of his hat, size of her shoes... It's called a legal disclaimer, and management can kick someone out if they feel like doing it. They don't have to give a reason. If he gave them a reason (such as "get out - I don't like the gay kissing in front of my other customers") then things changes a bit... Would he have done the same thing if it was a straight couple?

The officer was a rookie and I believe will be reprimanded. The gentlemen who were kicked out have filed I believe at the moment, only a complaint. We'll see what happens. The law that the rook tried to use is not even in the books anymore so...one up for the civilians.

Well if you can get me the address of the restaurant I would be very grateful, seriously. I want to send the owner a congratulations card and tuck in a few dollars to help cover any gay business he may be losing now.

And what would have been the reaction - say 50 years ago - if a black guy was kissing a white girl in public?

A social uproar! Yes? No Oohs and aahs - even if they have the capability to produce children.

So much for that theory.

Society dictates "deviancy"... It's not that the act may be natural or "unnatural". Society decided what are deviant and what not. Do you think two men kissing would have caused such a ruckus in Ancient Greece? Strange enough two women kissing would have...

Today people don’t even notice couples of different/mixed races. Perhaps in 50 years people won’t even notice same sex couples? Then we’ll have some or other reason to look down on two people in love...

More amusement. So procreation is God is it? Nothing is of any worth if it does not result in children? What if you kiss your mother in public, what does that say? Do you really think anyone except you looks at a couple kissing and thinks of the possibility of them having children?
You know there are tribes that have revered homosexuals as of a higher spirituality. It is a very basic viewpoint that looks at the world in such a black and white way. Duh...male...female...sex....children....we are saved...the race will go on.
Gays don't contribute to society? Is that so? I think you will find extraordinary achievements and contributions...leonardo...michaelangelo...I don't know why they bothered personally...it's all lost on you.

Geez that was the low energy version?

Guess what, there are lots of us who DO know a little, and you have to accept that. And please, drop this bit about homosexuals getting their brains beaten in. I don't know the numbers, but probably ONE homosexual gets assualted in comparison to every THOUSAND women, and that's just for being a woman.

Nobody cares what they do in privacy, but there are and should be laws for what people do in public. There are many places now where you can't smoke in public because it is aggravating to some people. You can't be naked in public. Technically you could pick your nose in public and eat the boogers but who wants to see that? See where I am getting at?
