Thank you for posting this. He was by far one of the most incredible people of the 20th Century and I think in due time he will get the recognition that he deserves. It just may be past our lifetimes for it to happen. I first heard the name Tesla when I played the Command and Conquer games for windows 95 when I was a kid. They had a weapon called Tesla Coils that electrocuted people as a defense for your base. I never looked much into his life and only lately have I become more intrigued by his inventions and his genius. Those people are the ones who really make the difference in this world. They don't limit themselves to what the norms of their time are and keep an open mind to completely new and out there possibilities. Reality is changing every day and to keep yourself focused on what you can prove today with your current knowledge will only slow your process of how the universe really works. Think outside the box.

Very good information. Tesla has been my hero for sometime even though everyone I talk to about him knows nothing. He is the father of inventions, wireless electricity and pretty much almost all the technology our every day lives rely on. I am planning a vacation to Serbia sometime as I have a friend there. There is a museum dedicated to Tesla there and I thought I'd share it.

S&F!

Here's to you Tesla for all your marvelous genius! "lifts glass"

I've got to say that Tesla will mainly be one of the greatest scientists of all time. I'm happy to see that so many here are interested in him as well. One of the greatest visionaries of the future and where things will be, and actually be right about it! Some of his stuff seemed like jetson's to most people of the time. Heck, try and say something of the thing he has already created and proved to work to people now-a-days and they still give you that blank stare. I think because of this, anyone with an IQ higher than 100 will seem "Before His Time" because people really are that dumb.

I had read somewhere, but I couldn't find a definite source, that he had tested his death ray, and intended to hit somewhere in the Arctic. Instead, he actually tagged Siberia and created the still controversial event in the Tunguska region, literally known as the Tunguska Event.

he Tunguska Event, or Tunguska explosion, was a powerful explosion that occurred near the Podkamennaya (Lower Stony) Tunguska River in what is now Krasnoyarsk Krai of Russia, at around 7:14 a.m.[1][2] on June 30, 1908 (June 17 in the Julian calendar, in use locally at the time).[2]

Although the cause of the explosion is the subject of debate, it is commonly believed to have been caused by the air burst of a large meteoroid or comet fragment at an altitude of 5–10 kilometres (3–6 miles) above the Earth's surface. Different studies have yielded varying estimates of the object's size, with general agreement that it was a few tens of metres across.[3]

Although the meteor or comet burst in the air rather than directly hitting the surface, this event is still referred to as an impact. Estimates of the energy of the blast range from 5 megatons[4] to as high as 30 megatons[5] of TNT, with 10–15 megatons the most likely[5]—roughly equal to the United States' Castle Bravo thermonuclear explosion set off in late February 1954...

This lake may have been the result of this energy impacting the ground.

In June 2007 it was announced that scientists from the University of Bologna had identified a lake in the Tunguska region as a possible impact crater from the event. They do not dispute that the Tunguska body exploded mid-air, but believe that a one meter fragment survived the explosion and impacted the ground. Lake Cheko is a small bowl shaped lake approximately 8 kilometres north-north-west of the hypocenter.[31] The hypothesis has been disputed by other impact crater specialists.[32] A 1961 investigation had dismissed a modern origin of Lake Cheko, saying that the presence of metres thick silt deposits at the lake's bed suggests an age of at least 5,000 years;[19] however, more recent research suggests that only a meter or so of the sediment layer on the lake bed is "normal lacustrine sedimentation", a depth indicating a much younger lake, about 100 years.[33] Acoustic-echo soundings of the lake floor provide support for the hypothesis that the lake was formed by the Tunguska event. The soundings revealed a conical shape for the lake bed, which is consistent with an impact crater.[34] Magnetic readings indicate a possible meter-sized chunk of rock below the lake's deepest point, which may be a fragment of the colliding body.[34] Finally, the lake's long axis points to the hypocenter of the Tunguska explosion, about 7.0 km away.[34] Work is still being done at Lake Cheko to determine its origins.[35]

The explosion's effects on the trees near ground zero was replicated during atmospheric nuclear tests in the 1950s and 1960s. These effects are caused by the shock wave produced by large explosions. The trees directly below the explosion are stripped as the blast wave moves vertically downward, while trees further away are knocked over because the blast wave is travelling closer to the horizontal when it reaches them.

So we know that the direction of the energy came from the sky...

There's so many unexplained things that have surrounded this man, that I wouldn't ever doubt his capabilities to realize anything he had spoken of.

Debate is still up though, until someone came come along and duplicate this, or we find out there is a heaven and he's there to be asked....

Possibly we will understand his time-travel and go back and ask him one day

S&F great thread

edit: crap forgot to add that my source was en.wikipedia.org... for the info above

The greatest irony is that consumers society uses Tesla AC generators to produce DC consumers products: the one time use stuff which is using Earth's resources at enormous rate, a total disaster.

Edison's idea won in the long run and in such a perverted way.

Almost everything in today's society and science is opposed to Tesla spirit and practical application.

No wonder they're trying to bury him into oblivion.

Had Tesla's Death Ray devastated Tunguska?

The mechanism behind Tesla's death ray is not well understood. It was apparently some sort of particle accelerator. Tesla said it was an outgrowth of his magnifying transformer, which focused its energy output into a thin beam so concentrated it would not scatter, even over huge distances. He promoted the device as a purely defensive weapon, intended to knock down incoming attacks - making the death ray the great-great grandfather of the Strategic Defense Initiative.

It is not certain if Tesla ever used the death ray, or indeed if he even succeeded in building one. But the following is the often-related story of what happened one night in 1908 when Tesla tested the foreboding weapon.

At the time, Robert Peary was making his second attempt to reach the North Pole. Cryptically, Tesla had notified the expedition that he would be trying to contact them somehow. They were to report to him the details of anything unusual they might witness on the open tundra. On the evening of June 30, accompanied by his associate George Scherff atop Wardenclyffe tower, Tesla aimed his death ray across the Atlantic towards the arctic, to a spot which he calculated was west of the Peary expedition.

Tesla switched on the device. At first, it was hard to tell if it was even working. Its extremity emitted a dim light that was barely visible. Then an owl flew from its perch on the tower's pinnacle, soaring into the path of the beam. The bird disintegrated instantly.

That concluded the test. Tesla watched the newspapers and sent telegrams to Peary in hopes of confirming the death ray's effectiveness. Nothing turned up. Tesla was ready to admit failure when news came of a strange event in Siberia.

On June 30, a massive explosion had devastated Tunguska, a remote area in the Siberian wilderness. Five hundred thousand square acres of land had been instantly destroyed. Equivalent to ten to fifteen megatons of TNT, the Tunguska incident is the most powerful explosion to have occurred in human history -- not even subsequent thermonuclear detonations have surpassed it. The explosion was audible from 620 miles away. Scientists believe it was caused by either a meteorite or a fragment of a comet, although no obvious impact site or mineral remnants of such an object were ever found.

Nikola Tesla had a different explanation. It was plain that his death ray had overshot its intended target and destroyed Tunguska. He was thankful beyond measure that the explosion had - miraculously - killed no one. Tesla dismantled the death ray at once, deeming it too dangerous to remain in existence.

This is one possible place I found this, but like I said, the sources are dodgy at best.

Most places on the internet say that he didn't even tell people about it till 1930s, but I had seen in a few places as early as 1905.

The article excerpts are the first I've seen. Excellent. S*F

I did however read awhile back that George Bush, aka Curious George, had access to Tesla and his lab and that after Tesla's death, Prescott had sent George to the FBI and was given many of the seized documents regarding his discoveries and inventions.

I can't remember the source and have not searched at this time, but that is what I read.

Have you heard of this event?

We wouldn't have convenient power in our cities and homes if it weren't for Tesla introducing Alternating Current or AC. AC allows electricity to be transferred over long distances without losses....On the other hand ahem, Direct Current , as Edison had endorsed based upon claims that it was safer but was limited to only 50 feet before it began to lose (not LOOSE) power,to heat I might add. The solution to Edisons power system was to use "boosting Stations" aka batteries every 50 feet in order to maintain a constant level of power to the end consumer.

Thank GOD for Nicola Tesla !

Yes, some web page. The idaho observer.
Mostly made up perhaps, especially about Bush.
And the accountant Schriff.
Schriff many have been roughed up a bit by the FBI looking for
all of Tesla possessions.
There is also tales of a Nazi nurse administering Versaid to make
Tesla talk, which made him breathe so slow he died.
Gee, something like Michael Jackson.
And July 10 is Tesla's Birthday.
Where did Schriff go? In some early witness protection program.

However if the Bushes had German ties one task would be to monitor Tesla.

Tesla did have spies we assume.
An early lab burned down and the process for liquid air was patented
in Europe by the Linde Company the next day. Tesla could have proved his
knowledge with his equipment. Tesla has a patent using liquid air
for a superconductive coil.

The Otto Skorzesy was the death bed reveler can't be true.
greyfalcon.us...
He died in Spain.
But he may have been Hitler's technology chief and must have
know of the Foo or saucer technology was Tesla based.
He ran gold to Argentina and took it back.
He may have tried to get the gold under Peak Victorino in Texas,
land west of the Pecos.

Great Thread! Nicola Tesla was an amazing man, and his scientific theories were amazing, He saw things like alot people didnt. HE was far ahead of his time and his legacy will live forever. His theorys of the earth od behaving like a giant capacitor were spot on in my opinion and eventually his true knowledge will spread to the masses instead of being concealed by the us government and the P.T.B

Funny seeing this article at this time. I have been watching a TV series out of Canada called "Murdoch Mysteries" available from Netflix and most likely elsewhere.
Anyhow on the first show they use Tesla as a scientist helping solve the crime. But show him a the inventor of many things including TV and radio. It was interesting to see how they did it. And the fact they gave him credit for many inventions.

Thank you thank you for remembering THE greatest scientist/inventor of the 20Th century, Tesla was a man way ahead of his time, the genius could not only think about a new invention like a new AC motor but he was able to mentally build it then set it working in his mind then weeks later go back to that trail of thought and take a look at the AC motor and see how it had theoretically performed and what modifications needed to be done before the real motor was built!

i would love for the Tunguska explosion to of been the work of the great man but who knows? As far as Edison an JP Morgan go there scum in my eyes, jealous and greedy and Marconi was not in the same league.

Tesla stated that he had come across a new wondrous form of creating energy, one that even startled Tesla as to how and where this came from! Was this ZERO POINT? the ultimate holy grail?

We all owe so much to this great man and he should be remembered with respect and fame like the likes of Einstein and a few other rare people of amazing genius. GOD BLESS YOU NICOLA TESLA.

There are many works on Tesla. One is "Man Out of Time". I had some sites bookmarked to link to, but one has been deleted and the other the web address could not be found(?).

As for the men on the ship for the Philedelphia experiment, it is claimed that some sort of phased in and out of our plane of existence. Others were reported to have "fused" with the hull of the ship.

To the OP. Great to see more about tesla talked about on here. I believe that a lot of our gov. black projects are based on his tech.

Also check out the "woodpecker signal". It ties in with a story that Tesla gave parts of the schematics to his beam weapon tech. to the U.S, U.K, and Russia as a hopes to bring them together and solve the puzzle to his tehnology together. Of course the rumor is that they did not and developed the tech. on their own. That is where the "woodpecker signal" comes in. Supposedly originated in Russia some time in the 70's and has to do with Teslas work.

As far as the sailors with the phildelphia project getting stuck in walls, its pretty simple to explain, if they had done the experiment on land this would not have happened, as land is fairly stationary. where as a boat moves, forward or backward depending on throttle. Or even up and down when anchored because of waves. When the sailors went out of this dimension into the time slip, they reappeared in the same spot they left, but the ship had moved, perhaps just a couple feet, but it had moved in some way due to waves and currents.
I'm sure the followups were done on land to prevent this, and I'd be very willing to bet our govt has perfected Tesla's technologies by now.

I've perhaps been more fortunate than others in regards to learning about Mr. Tesla at a very young age. Dubbed "the mad scientist", I believe, today still, he would be considered a man far before his time. I can only hope, that one some day, a person of such genius may pick up where he left off. I will forever curse myself for lack of a better intellect.

Out of all his work, I would more than anything like to study his "Dynamic Theory of Gravity" paper. I've read so many things about him I can hardly remember half of them, but I do recall thinking that paper had to be the prime reason for the FBI raid. As far as I know this paper still remains locked under "nation security" guise.

That alone makes me highly skeptical about currently accepted theories and of today's scientific community. I'm starting to believe we've been purposely led astray.

Kind regards to all, M.

"did alot of reading on Tesla quotes and never did the word Serbian come from his lips nor did he ever step a foot in Serbia"
In a mater of fact, he DID step a foot in Serbia, as far as I know(it's a well documented history, Tesla has been taught to kids in schools in histyory books in the countries of former Yugoslavia, as opposed to other countries)???In 1892 Tesla visited Europe(England, France and his birthplace). On jun 1. he visited Serbia. He was received In Belgrade by Serbian government officials and king Alexander Obrenovich of Serbia, who awarded him with the "Order of Saint Sava" medal. He also made an appearance and held a famous speech at the "Belgrade Great School" (Belgrade University of today):

(speaking to the students):"I have, as you can clearly hear and see, remained as Serbian as ever, even abroad where I am doing my research. That should also be your personal goal in life, to achieve great things with your hard work and knowledge and promote the glory of the Serbian name all around the world."

BTW, Tesla's visit made a profound influence on the public in Serbia at the time, but still he couldn't get elected as a full time member of "serbian academy of science" at the time.
((((

You don't need a "serbian visa" period. Which country are you coming from? He was not born in Serbia, he was born in in Austria Hungary at the time (former Yugoslavia, today's Croatia). I've heard that his birthplace has been ravaged by the Croatian army during the war.

Thankyou so much for that, you saved me a lot of time by finding those sources and proving something to someone who obviously hasn't read up on it.
