New Scientist has discovered that Pentagon's National Security Agency, which specialises in eavesdropping and code-breaking, is funding research into the mass harvesting of the information that people post about themselves on social networks. And it could harness advances in internet technology - specifically the forthcoming "semantic web" championed by the web standards organisation W3C - to combine data from social networking websites with details such as banking, retail and property records, allowing the NSA to build extensive, all-embracing personal profiles of individuals."

Umm, Facebook was started by a CIA agent, look up the history on it. It gathers all info and puts it into a CIA database. They set it up and run it, easy as hell for htem to keep tabs on people when its pretending to just be a social networking site.

Ummm I know that, you know that and there is a thread on that here..

Facebook a CIA Front?
www.abovetopsecret.com...

But the Lemmings who are worried don't know that..

Because they don't read more that the first post

So is a mobile IP address traceable? I know when we had the DoD 'visitor' he just powered up his lap top and found 4 of my neighbors that had no password on their wireless routers.

I think I've been shut down once and a while.... don't know for what reason but its like i can feel it? they are tracking my personal stuff.. well go ahead I've got nothing to hide..on my static apparency. but my dynamic life is not accessible...

mobile IP address is a little harder to trace. If you access the site www.whatsmyip.com from a mobile connection or a phone browser you'll notice your IP address changes.
Now if you Access through WIFI at a starbucks or mcdonalds it gets a lil easier to trace. I think it has something ot do with your WIfi ID on the computer.

I'm sure there are people working on tracing all this stuff, but i don't really know all that much about it.

Pirating Wireless internet isn't really all that hard. Most people set up wireless routers and dont password protect, I know a couple friends that don't pay for internet, just pirate their neighbors with their laptops.

Well, CIA can go skru them self, frggn retards !!!

Yea, they need to get some understanding of the human mind , if they need to sit and spy on peoples opinions on a conspiracy site, they are seriously in a need of an hobby !!!

Kill your senses
You might be right
Hold your fire
I'll take you higher
Never drop
We'll never stop

Tar for feathers
Blood for honey
Milk for money
Isn't it funny how it hurts
How it hurts

You never see me make
The same mistake twice
You never see a tear
Coming out of these eyes
You never see me beg
For another shot
And you never see me change
Into something I'm not
Famous last words

Stare at someone
You used to know
Laughs at you
Turns around and fade away
If only I could see it that way

Kill your senses
It can't be right
Isn't it funny how it hurts

You never see me make
The same mistake twice
You never see a tear
Coming out of these eyes
You never see me quit
See me disengage
And you never see me spit in your face
Out of rage
Famous last words

So, CIA smart aholes, tell me what song this is, and tell me on my Face Book, And I'll be impressed, otherwise, garBage !!!

While mf_luder is the real deal

It's a real organization...really

I'd say look it up but it's so secret I don't even know I work for it

OK and let's be honest, this whole thread is BS

If I could give this a NEGATIVE FLAG, I would !
Hey that's not a bad idea. Maybe ATS should have a plus flag and a minus flag for threads

Actually I have a different Idea of why they need so much information, even the trivial and insignificant stuff

All that data is going into a huge super computer.

If you wanted to create an AI... you would need to input everything, including grandma's recipe for chicken soup. Our brains work as they do because our minds can conceive quantum mechanics yet five minutes later think about making dinner or taking out the trash.

For an AI to be useful and successful it would need tons of seemingly irrelevant data to give it a 'rounded' education

Food for thought...

BUT what would they do with that AI

ZOrgon,
that my friend, is the true question.
I'm thinking something along the line of cybernetic soldiers. You can make them, think, look, act, talk any way you want them to.
therefore very good for infiltrating and destroying from within the network.

Now I'm not saying they have these yet, but as you say "WHAT IF" they happened to be working on these machines?

Sensitive? Hmmm lets try this...

A long time ago there were secret DoD shuttle missions. You can call BS if you like but that would make one stupid...

Well we all know there have been NUMEROUS classified shuttle missions over the years.

Several of these had return weight CLASSIFIED and it still is to this day...

2 reasons
1. Sometimes spy sat's need to be returned to earth for either servicing or decom.
2. If you know what the send weight and return weight is, you can guess what went up.

So... why? What did they bring back?

Sometimes a sat., sometimes nothing.

Yes What IF is a great thing... so many questions it creates...

Makes you wonder... then seek... and sometimes find...

Yes we do... but not the majority of posters. Most of those don't even know Russia had several shuttles (I know where four of then are on Google Earth

And then there is MISTY with the Robert Bigelow connection

Sometimes a sat., sometimes nothing.

That was funny... changing Dark Star to Black Star...

Nice one
And you said this thread was BS... but now you want to play too...

We have another endurance vehicle
called Dark Star, which performs a
similar mission but has enhanced survivability.
The Dark Star has had its
first flight. It experienced a control
problem resulting in a crash on its second
flight. We have recently reviewed
the redesign to deal with the problems
experienced, and Dark Star also is on
track to begin flying again this fall.

For example, the ability to
fly 3,000 miles, loiter at the target for
24 hours or more, and then return to base.

www.dau.mil...

Loiter for 24 hours... pretty cool huh?

"....armed with a microwave weapon..."

During an attack, the microwave system would draw power from the vehicle’s
engines to generate the microwave energy. As long as the vehicle has fuel, it can attack enemy targets. The projected maximum capability for a microwave UCAV is approximately 100,000 pulses of microwave energy (or shots) per mission. However, in the case of a typical engagement, a mi-crowave weapon could fire multiple pulses at the target to ensure that it was destroyed or disabled. If one assumes 1,000 pulses per target, it is conceivable that a microwave UCAV could attack on the order of 100 targets per mission.39 In addition, a microwave system could be used to protect the UCAV from enemy missiles if the enemy has the ability to detect low-observable aircraft.

And nope... no way I am linking to the actual file... Gotta keep some tricks up my sleeve

Who cares about the CIA, it's job that pays the bills, puts food on the table and keeps a roof over ones head. Besides I'm not American so CIA isn't much of a concern to me, however there still is CSIS and the RCMP but I don't care what those guys think of me anyway.
