Am I Being Targetted Using Trigger Words?

I keep getting sent e-mails like the one you can view via the link.

All theye seem to contain are random sets of words. A friend seems to think they are lists of 'trigger words', whatever that may be. Can anyone shed any light upon this.

Some of those words i have never even heard of it looks like a chain letter to me or som1 is trying to spam you. Do you know the guy who sent this to you?

No, I have no idea who it is. I have also received similar ones from what look like different addresses.

Well then all i can say is its most probably spam mail.

They simply do that to bypass the email filtering software installed on most servers these days.

These softwares scan sender and Subjects for words to filter(porn, free blabla and so on) so now they fill the subject with valid words, and put their spam crap purely in the body of the email.

At work I replaced all mail servers with the heavyest 8 CPU boxes I could buy, so I could enable the body scanning features of our spam filter software on all emails.

Most company's and ISP's don't scan body's, because the sheer bulk of mail that passes them is much to heavy for any standard mail server to scan.

I'm not too sure if this has much to do with this, but some of those sorts of e-mails have been sent to me.
The thing is that a few days later after they were sent to me, I got e-mail messages saying that messages to the same adresses that had sent me the strange ones originaly. But I hadn't sent anything at all and the messages that had been sent but not recieved (aparently) had the same sort of random words on them.

The long list of rendom words are put there in order to get through spam filters.

Some spam filters weight the words contained in them to jidge the status of the email. The more random words that are contained in an email, the less effective some filters become.

Spambayes (a free plugin for outlook, which is open source and used on all 300+ PC's at my office) and some other spam filters becomes less effective. You train it to recognize spam.

I hope all spam senders contract tertiary syphilis.

That's not spam. Either you got somebody's e-mail by mistake or you are being e-stalked. Recommend you show that to your local PC Dr. You know someone who is highly qualified to sort it out.

Hmmm... that looks coded to me. There is probably some sort of pattern in these words and to figure out the message you need to find it. I doubt it is unsolicited e-mail because it contains no obvious advertisment.

I have no idea what these emails you are receivingmean. However, I can tell you that I often receive emails that are generally ASCII garbage: They don't have any coherency; rather, they are a bunch of nonsensical words and phrases strung together.

What I can adequately comment on, though, is the prospect that these emails may contain ''trigger'' words. There are two programs. Firstly, "Carnivore," was implemented by the FBI/CIA and it tracks email traffic. It searches for "hot" words such as "assasinate" "bomb" "kill" "President" etc. I do not know if it was ever "officially" put into use with the public,however there's much speculation about it. This was about five years ago.

Echelon is another program that has gain some notiriety: It does essentially the same thing as Carnivore. Based upon an article I recently read, such programs as Carnivore do violate search and seizures laws. Thusly, it is unlikely that Carnivore was every fully implemented. Echelon, however, is run jointly with a couple other countries.

That is, other countries monitor the US traffic,and the United States monitors other countries' traffic. Ergo, no violation of homeland laws.

The point of these hot-word searches is to help give tips to the various three-letter agencies: They run through this digital sieve random emails, in hopes of catching the next terrorist.
I know that the contemplation of said programs has existed for quite a while.

It's not a code, or message sent to someone by mistake, etc. It's simply spam mail with a bunch of random words/letters thrown in to confuse the filters. I get 30 to 40 of those emails a day. You can even see the link in that picture for what they were trying to sell.

Probably spam, but makes me think.

If you don't want your trigger words, to "trigger" anything.
Just type your message, print it out, scan it, and email the jpg..
