I didn't ask you to come preach - but ofcourse that wouldn't ever deter you crazy ass born-agains. I thought it was funny how you to tried to stay moderately impartial then all of a sudden - BAM - intelligent design via mona lisa and spilled coffee. How very convincing. If you actually fail to acknowledge evolution exists here is a website with very specific, investigated examples of "the missing transitional fossils", which everyone besides ignorant religious fanatics know are real. I don't doubt there are gaps, and you can continue to fill those gaps with your stupid idea of a "higher power" or god or whatever the hell you want to call it. Enlighten yourself:

I think reading the answers here reinforce my own view that smart people (for some reason) tend to easily pursue dumb things...
Also if you look at my other posts you will see I posted a link to a news story that confirms we do have a hobbit-like brother that descended from the same primate tree. Modern monkeys, apes, and so on are not our fathers you idiot. They are modern day species just like us. We all came from primitive primates which aren't around anymore. Peace moron

he even uses the same words you do. "accident" "lack of fossils" etc. I think what happens is you sheep all get pamphlet handouts at your local cult-church with supposed curveball arguments laid out in bullet-point. And your dumb preacher leader insists "and lo should ye be-ith confronted by thy heathen dis-believers, commence thou throw to shatter their world". And that is why we have these stupid repeating uneducated posts that basically explain you have the IQ of about 80

While I told myself I wasn't going to attack anyone on this because I simply wanted to hear WHY you believe or don't, when you come on and spout your dogma I have to reply. Quoting this and that does not provide evidence for anything. It merely makes you look like a brain-washed close-minded robot. If you actually have an experience to write about I'd gladly hear it. If not, don't reply

Wow, I never ever thought I would be able to say this....

dun dunt dun dun nant nant....."Acting like a Robot...."...dun, dunt, dun dun, nant nat.

I have many experiences but they are all mine and wouldn't be useful to you as yours would not benefit me, only that we care for one another.

Are you concerned with finding magicians who do tricks and dazzle you? Maybe you are searching for a peer group to be accepted by?

You my friend, are the highest power there is in your life, unless you have children, then you must decrease and they will increase. Seeing as how you are looking for something to worship, start with life.

Do I need to tell you why?

Peace

Makinho21, do you know you are loved? Some in a parenting way, some in a lovers way, some in a friendship way. Do you set traps to love people?

Why do you seek others "higher" power to destroy? I am telling you the truth, it doesn't matter what you believe as long as you do truth. Only the ones baring children will have anything they can keep forever because LIFE is the HIGHEST POWER you will forever know, be you in the body...or out of it. Only those who build the body, keep the body...

Do you want to be a "White" cell or would you rather meet Cain sir?

You Judge and are judging. Go easy on yourself....payback sucks and nobody gets any less then they give.

Sheep can be bothersome, but if you don't have any sheep to shear...you are going to freeze in the winter. They are gentle animals....let's not do anymore firecracker tricks with them. I mean, I'm just looking for you to have a sweater come winter.

"If you want to destroy my sweater...pull this thread as I walk away"....."It's all unraveling we'll soon be naked....lying on the floor....we come undone"

That really says it right....Simple truths are the key to all truths, like this classic..."do to others what you would want done to you".....simple, yet from the highest power their is...the only living god.

If you don't see him, you're looking for an image and that image only comes to life on television.

See the Highest power and stop looking...this is the good news..."The kingdom IS AT HAND"....Life is sure, guessing is not...simple...even for wolves that blow houses down.

Peace

Like I said preaching your garbage doesn't do anything to help share "your" story. Maybe you don't even have one. Anyways, I am only reacting to the fact that i asked you to share, not quote scripture. I am done with this though, because it seems the only people on belowtopsecret.com are all born-agains and fail to grasp the simple thought experiment I had hoped would be performed. Alas, I hope you aren't actually sheep and can think for yourself. But I have my doubts. Gidday believers.

You know, Sean, here in a couple weeks I’m traveling back to Arizona to visit some buddies. We’re actually going on a mountain bike/camping trip, and I really can’t wait. It’s going to be awesome! Anyway, one of my buds is an atheist… so what. He’s a blast to hang out with, but even though we have had our talks concerning the same topic, he has never got angry and called me a moron, or an idiot, or said I had a low I.Q. and if he did, it would just crack me up… the same way you did.

Sorry if I hit a nerve bro, but you asked.

I just would like to know why you do or do not believe...

I put it pretty simple as to why I believe.

I have personally had many supernatural experiences from prophetic dreams, to instant healing s, and things that I couldn’t even begin to explain.

I’m not interested in changing your beliefs by being "preachy"… I have absolutely NO desire to convert, persuade, or change your mind about what you believe. I think your mind is made up…

Peace, bro.

I'm so glad that you asked for us to "share reasons and thoughts" for our belief, and not proof, because proof is impossible. But more about that later...

I have the audacity to confidently state that I know that there is a G-d, and that He has revealed Himself to the world in the person of Yeshua Ha Meshiach (Jesus the Christ, or Anointed One). I know this because He has made Himself known to me, and to countless others, who have called upon His name.

I can also understand people not believing in Him, because I spent my first 20 or so years totally ignorant of Him. This world we live in does everything it can to contradict its Creator, and understandably so. At the end of the day, if there is no Creator, there is no one to answer to. But if there is a G-d, who will judge the living and dead, at the end of time, we would be wise to be bothered by that, and understandably offended.

Ironically, I hear many demand that this "G-d", if He exists, answer to the charges that are raised against Him, which kind of seems ludicrous to me, as does the logic that says that the existence of G-d must be "proven". G-d is holy, just, and all powerful. We exist in a world that has its origin in Him, is sustained by Him, and will be completed at His will. We owe our every breath to Him, because "without Him was not anything made that was made". It is we who should be proving ourselves to Him, not the other way around.

Thankfully He has governed His creation, by restricting it by Laws that make logical sense in the consideration of others (before you draw attention to the ones that don't make sense to you, what about the ones that do make sense ... like lying, adultery, disobeying parents, for example), and then providing a means of forgiveness, while maintaining His integrity, by taking our penalty upon himself.

As a Christian, I believe that the Bible is true and authoritative. But there is one problem with that statement: That same Bible clearly states that there is an enemy of our soul, who has set himself up as the "Prince of the Power of the Air". It also says that unless we call upon the name of Yeshua, believing that G-d has raised him from the dead, we are under the dominion of this "Prince of the Power of the Air", ie Satan. The problem arises in the fact that Satan has "blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them".

In other words, if the Bible is true, then its words say that they are "unprovable" unless the Ruach Ha Kodesh (Spirit of Holiness) reveals Its true meaning to us. This was the thing that totally blew me away when I first believed: The fact that the reality of God was plain and obvious, in my face, but I never noticed it.

I hope this doesn't come across as arrogant, because that certainly hasn't been my intention. Unfortunately if our beliefs are real, they have an effect on everyone. If you are truly walking in a dream, and everyone around you is a figment of your imagination, then that affects the rest of us. I saw a documentary about some Russian soldiers, who converted to Islam in Afghanistan. The Imans were speaking of how these soldiers left their life behind after seeing the reality of Islam. The thing is, one of the soldiers secretly confided in the reporters that they knew that their choice was "convert or die".

The Gospel message is that either you can "enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season", or "repent and be converted". Anyone who threatens you with violence, because you don't believe, is not a true Christian. If it is false, then you have nothing to worry about, because all the "threatenings of the gospel" are deferred til the hereafter. In fact, the promise of suffering in this life is given to "all who will live godly in Christ Jesus", and I for one bear witness to that.

This is my experience with a higher power...nice talking to you and every last soul with you. Is the air clean enough for you? How's the food? Oh what about your car, is it suitable?

You search for a higher power, not knowing you are it. You are born again and don't even know it...that's what is so funny about you. YOU DON"T KNOW IT....I have to laugh every time you say "those born agains"....if you only knew what you were saying....that it is about you.

Don't hate what you create....

Peace

When people are sheep, what are ewe?

Like I said, sheep are for shearing. Lamb is delicious. They don't question where they are being led...that's why they make great providers of clothing and nuitrition.

We weren't commanded to feed the sheep for no reason...it's almost dinner time.

So in other words, "Why is it that when I ask a question, people don't answer using my logic, instead of their own?" As a believer, I have been amazed as I pondered my personal, how much was consistent with what is revealed in Scripture. Generally in discussions like this, I try to avoid citing the references, only quoting the Bible when hoping to demonstrate the logic of Scripture.

Truth be told, eveyone is a sheep. Everyone is a slave. This difference exists in whether or not we know who our "master" is. I find it amusing when I see teenagers dressed up in "emo" get up, because the want to be "individuals". This of course is second only to reminiscing back to the days when I was the same (except the fashion of my day was Adidas track suits, and LA Raiders caps, after our favourite old school Hip Hop acts).

For most of my life I believed in God, but now, I know Him. Now, that I'm older and I look back, I realize that He has slowly been revealing Himself to me throughout my lifetime but because of my own niaveness, I was only willing to look at the Word it'self as a collection of individual progressive moralistic stories, when in all actuality it is a guide for our own individual spiritual walk.

Personally, I become very bored when I visit this site anymore because I know my own relationship with God is a tad bit more advanced than my fellow posters. This is a bold statement - yes - but it is what it is. The people around here love to argue over interpretation, whether it be over, the Apostle Paul, the rapture, hell..... etc. I don't blame you one bit for looking at the religious community around here, rolling your eyes, throwing up your hands and then labeling us crazies.Lol

Since you self admit that so far during your lifetime you haven't had a religious experience (and by saying that I'll assume that includes no supernatural phenomena as well) - what you are really wanting to know is - is there a method to the madness.? Yes there is. And you are the type of person, I wouldn't mind carrying on a serious conversation with because as an unbeliever you don't have any preconceived notions of what God is or isn't. All you are really saying is, that so far during your lifetime you haven't experienced anything out of the ordinary that has made you be able to differentiate between what is randomness and what is God.

As you go through life just try to stay as open minded as you possibly can, after all we are floating on a huge ball in space and for me that is mind blowing. And God is a mind blower. Your physical body grows from a baby, to a boy, to a man and that is similar to how your spiritual body grows - it's actually more of a "rising." In fact, if I likened spiritual growth to anything it would be like a tree or a plant, that has first a root, then a stem, then branches, then leafs and then flowers. I'm not talking in an abstract way either - this is the reality of what really happens.

When dealing with the spiritual side of things - you have to realize that your five senses will come into play. If you can see something with your eyes physically you are also capable of seeing spiritually with them. If I was standing next to you and touched your arm - that's physical but if no one was standing next to you and you suddenly felt something touch your lips, though you don't know who or what it was - you just know something happened out of the ordinary. Same with smell. You cook yourself a bacon sandwich and it smells good and then one day you start to smell an aroma of oil, that there is really no explanation for. Suddenly this smell seems to follow you around for a year and even longer and at some point you just know something is going on. All your senses will come into play but this is nothing compared to all that will happen - this is just a foretaste of the beginning of knowledge, that leads to disclosure of the living God.

Though you don't want to hear it right now - Jesus came to disclose God to you, as an individual, and your situation you find yourself in or not in is between you and him. I can point you in the way but the mysteries are there for the taking.

It all comes down to how bad you really want to know and the effort you are willing to put into it.

The body of Christ....It's what's for dinner.

Their are many ways to consume the body and many bodies to consume. It is the great supper of God. It is the flesh of Kings and of Beasts and of young and of old. First becomes last and is consumed all the way through till the Last becomes first.

This occurs one feast at a time. At the marriage feast. This is done in heaven at which time two are becoming one, the marriage feast of the lamb. Here is 23 and 23 meet to form a name only you know. And after 9 holy's, that is full moons.....the veil is torn and you see a new Jerusalem meaning "founded faithfull" descend down out of heaven adorned in fresh linen....a newborn...god doesn't change.

As men, to procreate you must loose part of yourself, as where the woman gains to herself. When your child is born so remerges self existent salvation...God with us

We are the higher power...

Have you ever found yourself deep within nature where the autos, people and the clink and clatter of so called civilization could not touch you? There is your higher power, just being a part of it. I find it so beautiful and overwhelming that it frightens me. That is where I get my answers.

We are evolving..making the mistakes needed to give us that universal wisdom. God is a construct of our minds. We know there is something greater and the reason it is so nagging is because the greater dwells within us. Impatience drives us to this so called God.

I believe that the patriarchal religions brought our spiritual evolution to a screeching halt....a 3500 year long speed bump. It has trapped our minds through fear.

Dharma Buddhism in my opinion gives the clues as to who and why we are...the cycles are our power and our greatness.

Yo I am sorry if I came across as angry - I may have reacted a with a lot of hostility because alot of the responses were very preachy and ignored what I had said about my own experience and did not elaborate on their own story. I simply grouped your comment together with the others. After going away from this thread for awhile and coming back I saw how frustrated I got with alot of people who just came on here to quote scripture and proselytize - not share an experience with others.

Also I guess speaking from a spiritual and religious standpoint, it is always going to appear somewhat "preachy" to a point, but I overreacted to your post and one other posters responses.
It doesn't help to have people like Matrix Traveller come on here and Randvy spout their dogma for the sake of showing everyone else we are wrong...
Again I did not mean to be that hostile - I just didn't ask for a religious seminar, I just wanted people to share with me why or why not.

- seeing messages in your breakfast and coffee spills refuting things like evolution is to me spreading dogma and preaching. Each to his own though...
Cheers mate
