Greetings,

This recession is killing me.

I am wondering if any Brits, could tell me how they see they Pound doing in the next couple of years.

Is there a possibility that they will switch to Euros?

Is there any hope of it bouncing back to the powerful currency that it once used to be?

When I first started working for my company.... 3 + yrs ago...

1 GBP was equal to 2.30 CDN..

now.. 1 GBP is around 1.85 CDN.

That's a hefty paycut.

It was even lower at one point but as you can see... thats quite a decrease vs. the CDN dollar.

If the pound keeps on losing its value, I'll be looking for another job, and will have to work 7 days a week to make ends meet.

How bad is this going to get?

Will we ever see 1 GBP = 1.50 Euros any time soon?

Where America goes, we are doomed to follow...

My thoughts on the whole thing are somewhat more doom and gloom to be frank, give it a couple more years I don't think money will be an issue.

Doom and gloom you say...

DO you mean D&G to the extent that Zimbabwe faced with their crazy inflation?

I feel quite helpless at the moment. So many of us are very vulnerable to this currency failing.

well, we have to keep in mind that the UK is the main "hub" for EU finances. Actually, in ONE SINGLE DAY , London we see more transactions in Euro that the rest of the Europe together! My opinion is that UK is playing at two tables. I do not see Euro adopted in the UK due the strong banking cartel oposition (that would loose control somehow on money supply) , but I see maybe 1 euro=1 £ then starting to recover after 2012..

Thank you for your insight Romanian.

Parity with the euro for the next two years, doesn't sound like a party.

With the Olympics being in London 2012... surely it will climb back up by then!
