I am quite tentative on this issue.

Absolutely, I am in favor of auditing the Fed, but it seems no one is talking about what will happen if it passes and agents of this Act are forced to force their way in and start perusing records.

Is there anyone left who might be under the assumption that they won't find wrong-doing (an a lot of it) if, in fact, they are allowed in?

What happens to this wallet of mine while all this is going on? The leather has been stretched as far as it can go without bursting.

This is what makes me tentative. This will almost certainly have to be one of the classic 'lesser of two evils' scenarios. Indeed, auditing the Fed will, of course, be the lesser (by far, IMHO), as the alternative is proving far too...taxing, and seems will inevitably lead to the dollars collapse. But doesn't it seem as though we will know torment either way, and is anyone prepared for that?

My point: It's not going to be a smooth ride, as anything worth doing hardly ever is, but how many of us are prepared for such happenings? It's not going to be an idle time either way. If not, then the collapse seems imminent, and if so - what happens when they find what would have to be the most major deviations ever know to mankind on paper (well, at least 'til the IMF and World Bank go through the same thing - lol)?

I just thought I'd share my feelings on the matter as I'm not seeing anyone really discussing it. I simply want to know what will happen to my budget in the immediate future post-audit? Any thoughts?

EDIT: WOW! Did I take that long writing this?!? Geeez. MAN! That was A LOT of quick posts. And I see some of you sharing my concern. Excellent
Now to read them...

AMEN and i will sign

I have found that the silent controller of the fed is the royal family/queen

so, Uk's shadow gov is in control basically. They are old school and expect the commons to suffer with a capital S.

Greed has blinded them, its that simple. See what big money does to ones heart .

(i'm poor and out of work but very well educated on this subject and many others ---some fringe some standard. If your rich hire me ,i will move to where ever theres work. So if you need a strong wise and good hearted person ,just contact me at my youtube address www.youtube.com... . If your like me then just sign the petition, we also need to inform Obama about the truth on the fed . Yet, what i have heard that most of the m1/2 money supply recently printed hasn't been sent out yet ,just sits. So, the final death of the dollar and hyper inflation is still on the horizon > the fed can call back bogus over printing, yet Obama and regulators can step in now and stop it. Also, I can give you sources to back it up :

Jimmy Rogers, Catherine Austin Fitts, Harry Dent,Cliff High

www.naomiklein.org... or solari.com...

AND THIS ONE : www.theworldiscurved.com/TWIC_Conversation.html

The current economic crisis goes well beyond the subprime loan/mortgage implosion-- it reveals fundamental problems in our financial architecture, and a serious lack of trust in the institutions themselves. We could be looking at a perfect storm of further financial trouble, with the bursting of as many as eight other bubbles, including the commercial real estate market, adding up to a staggering loss of $200 trillion. We allowed the leveraging of financial institutions to get out of hand-- government regulators were asleep at the switch. European countries and other nations are likely in a worse situation than America since they are largely export dependent, and exports are dropping off,European banks are heavily exposed to Emerging Market debt. The civil unrest and chaos in Greece, fueled by unemployed youth, could spread to Spain, Italy and France.Innovation and risk taking are drying up because of the lack of capital. Obama's stimulus plan could end up creating debt and may not employ many of the laid off white collar workers.

on the "it's going to be a bumpy ride" theme, those of us at the older end of the spectrum have lost most of our retirement money. people are getting laid off right and left and not all oldsters can find work to fill in the empty spots or rebuild some of what we expected to live on. but we are still going to keep getting older and a lot of us are simply going to run out of money. what on earth are going to do with all these old people with nothing to live on? existing social security and medicare isn't going to come close to cover all these people. so while I share your concern about blowing up the entire system with an audit, i'm very much afraid its going to blow up soon anyway.

worrisome to say the least.

Actually we need to INCREASE government power!

Large government power only enables the elite class to gain more control. Notice how it is the big government guys like Barney Frank who want to block any audit of the Fed.

Besides anytime there is a powerful central government, there is always a higher potential for tyranny. This can be seen in China, old Russia, Imperial Britain, hell even all the way back to the Roman Empire. In all those instances, there was an elite class who wielded total control of the public through the government.

In case you missed my point the problem is that the government has no control over big bussiness. A classic example is the federal reserve being a semi-private entity that refuses to be audited!

To take it a step further how often have anti-trust laws been enforced lately? Surely they exist for a reason, don't they? I am pro-free market but we are heading for a closed market system with artificial monopolies dictating terms on everyone and everything.

I salute anyone who has the cahonas to stand up against the corruption and lies.

WHY DO THE MASSES NOT CARE ?????

As long as there favorite TV shows are on and gas prices are low, people seem to be ignorant of what there own government is doing.

I am a glass is half full kind of guy, BUT....I really don't think the audit will get any where. Maybe 40 or 50 years ago we could've done something, But not now ( I hope I'm wrong ).

David and Goliath.....Except now...Goliath is about 20 stories tall
and David is still David....

I think we need a bigger stone....

I'm adamantly opposed to a violent revolution, but what choice would America have, or as John F Kennedy said it:

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."

Nail on the head, it feeds into the most popular CT on ATS. Why was Kennedy really killed? His brother was pushing for an Audit of the Federal Reserve system. He was angry by what he saw (corruption of elected officials through Fed Res coopting) He even got angier when his younger brother was put in a compromisting position with a dead secretary, and they were given a choice, drop this or your brother will lose everything. They chose to fight. It cost them their lives.

What most don't understand is the virus known as the Federal Reserve has infected 90% or more of all elected officials, so it is not in their best interest to have that kind of information made public, otherwise Kennedy's quote above would come to pass.

it sure looks that way. it's funny though. even people who believed in obama's promises to redistribute the wealth are now noticing that it's not going to regular people but to supporters, big contributors who are well connected the way to get the contracts, union interests. i think most supporters of socialism believe it equalizes people not that it polarizes things even more. or am I naive?

Flat out, it won't happen. outside if congress nobody has the power to do it and congress will never allow it. Period. Keep your hopes up but I tell you now..... The Fed will not be audited.

THATS TRUE GOOD POINT < you go against the fed you up against the biggest gangster(s) there are/is

WE are screwed , no way to win , we do need to nationalize the fed . Take it over at gun point ---but it wont happen because people at the top are making good money and wont risk losing that . so the poor educated see's the problem and can only prey that it changes.

The only way to change it is to make a pact with the et's have them come down and clean house !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL OF YOU MADE GOOD POINTS

we are scewed .... and all we can do is try to trancend the pain n suffering. As i get older i know it harder for me to marry some rich gal ... and again im out of work ,so if anyones a philanthropist or a rich enough single gal out there and needs a nice ,strong guy around . I would set up shop up north where you can hunt elk or deer if the S hits the fan big time. I don't think it will get that bad. remember the facts durring the last depression 20% were out of work which means the majority worked!
yes the squeeky wheels made the news . So , perspective is needed. IM sure the unemployment figures are off right now , its more like 20% right now.

WHO"S GOT A JOB OR A FUTURE FOR ME?

RON PAUL better understand that if the fed was audited it would create the paper work out of thin air , in other words lie .

NATIONALIZE THE FED --CLEAN HOUSE

I'm a little confused by what happened here..

Did they block hr 1207 or did they block S604 ?

Either way, its not good news but can somebody clear that up for me ?

Edit:

Just found out it was S604 blocked not HR 1207.

My next question now is.. can they use rule 16 on HR 1207 as well ?

i signed the petitions for both bills. it is time we uncover all the people that are behind all of this corruption. we are slowly starting to learn what is going on and who is behind it but this will be the apex.
pieces of the puzzle are coming into place for me now-no protesting, gun owners and ex-military are terrorists, free speech, really just the whole constitution up in flames etc. etc.- they are running scared because they know that when (IF) we get the transparency that was promised us (but we don't have)by that silver tongued lying bastard who calls himself president and the other aholes in congress who support him and are of the same mentality they are f'ed. they are passing those laws because they know what is coming and the people will finally say "that's it- give me liberty or give me death" they know hundreds of millions of people banded together will destroy the few hundreds who do these atrocities to us.
all we have to do is get people to stop worrying more about american idol,mj's death etc. and band together to stop their crimes.
unfortunately even tho they are treasonous sons of bitches noone will ever be impeached or removed from office and hung as the law states is the punishment for such acts against our once great country.
we are to be taxed out of existence with no representation, and they laugh in our face about it.
where is bruce willis from the "jackyl" when we need him? almost seems like the best solution now!!!
they better remember what happened to mussolini also - it might turn out like that for them i pray
