How realistic is it that there was NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of the 9/11 attacks?

The best defense, is a good offense. We spent the first half of the last century, NOT planning for war and it cost us dearly.

Hilarious. Typed with the mindset of a true warmonger!

Let me get this right... you did not plan for war and it cost you dearly.

So, the opposite position would be that when you do plan for war, you profit dearly...

War = profit.

It's got nothing to do with patriotism, honour, heroes, glory, sacrifice, courage, freedom... Present day wars are all about profit.

Thanks for confirming that! War is big business.

Indeed. Mindless warmongers who never had an independent thought of their own. The words of a highly decorated US Marine hero who put his nation first after he retired; even sabotaging a Bush/Walker Crime Family attempted Nazi coup of America.

According to Two-Time Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Major General Smedley D. Butler - USMC Retired

To summarize: Three steps must be taken to smash the war racket.

We must take the profit out of war.

We must permit the youth of the land who would bear arms to decide whether or not there should be war.

We must limit our military forces to home defense purposes.

Too bad America did not follow through on Major General Butler's advice.

That was also the advice of President/General George Washington.

But no; we allowed corrupt leaders to turn us into a nation of war mongerers and murderers.

May GOD Almighty forgive us.

By cost, I refer to human lives, not money.

No, it means not as many people die. On a side note, such a simplistic way of thinking on your part, must be nice. Too bad its not real practical in the real world.

The most likely scenario is that the government knew "something was going to happen" and chose to let it happen. It's not likely that specific people had specific knowledge of the impending attacks. It seems clear that there were plans in place for how to take advantage of a catastrophic attack and the right people knew exactly what to do when it went down.

I'd get into a discussion of what would have actually happened if we took Butler's advice, but it would be a complete waste of time and effort on this crowd.

For all those who have defended freedom through out the years and defeated Nazism, Slavery, Communism and any other totalitarian government:

YOU'RE WELCOME.

I'm pretty sure someone, I think it was Condi Rice said that there were rumours about it happening, and that they were tipped off in advance by Mossad or Mi5 or something like that, but that they did not take it seriously.

Obviously the war mongers would never have been in control of US forces and the White House and 9-11 would never have happened. NORAD would not have been practicing an attack on their own nation and US warplanes would have been available to DEFEND their own land.

And the no-win VietNam war would never have happened and our POWs and MIAs would not have been abandoned over there by corrupt greedy politicians.

And tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women, and children would not be dead and mutilated and suffering for the rest of their lives. And Iraq would not be a nuclear wasteland.

And maybe the Taliban would have successfully destroyed the profitable and addictive opium fields forever and maybe thousands of American military personnel would still be alive and not suffering horrendous wounds and not be worried about being abandoned by their uncaring corrupt government.

Your ignorance of history and the very subject you prop up as defending your position is noted.

His book that you quoted from, "War is a Racket", is from 1935. If America had heeded Butler's ill-advised warning, Europe and most of western Asia would have been under the heel of Nazi Germany for the foreseeable future. Without the Soviet Union, the Korea war wouldn't have occurred, but that point is moot because the entire region would have been under Japanese control, including China. Vietnam wouldn't have occurred, of course, because again, the Japanese would have already ethnically cleansed that nation of its native Vietnamese, as was their goal there as well as Korea.

Australia would not have lasted long, so there would be another vassal state of Japan, along with the nations of Indochina, including Thailand.

Britain would have collapsed, as well, without US support (denied, of course, by Butler), leading India to fall to Japanese hedgemony.

North America, at least the Canadian and US parts, would have been the sole outliers in a world of fascism. How long do you think they would have lasted, SPreston?

Really....if anyone heeded Butler's advice, the entire would would have been under fascist rule. I didn't know you were such a fan of fascism, SPreston.

Butler falls into the idiot-hero category. Not to take anything away from his medals of honor, but his oft-quoted words are the stuff of pure lunacy and serve to underscore - YET AGAIN - that there are idiots and lunatics in every walk of life - even among our nation's medal of honor awardees.

But...these words will be wasted, as I predicted, on these fools.

Yeah and instead it's under rule by America. Let's play spot the difference.
