I've wondered the same thing so am glad to find this posted. My avatar on this board is quite the reflection of who I believe myself to be. Those who know me, realize that I'm a lightning strike away from total disaster, yet completely natural and beautiful. Also, the name, Hazelnut, is the definition of my "real name". So that was easy.

Now I'm going to go back to the beginning and read all the replies. Thanks.

Whoops. I guess I can't edit my original post which no longer makes sense. I liked the lightning strikes pic alot, but after reading your thread I decided to post a pic of the "real" me. No more hiding behind lightning strikes for me. I feel a little exposed now though.

What does my avatar say? That I'm a floppy headed Canadian with a beard?

My avatar speaks for itself. I found answers thru experience and my favorite subject is "The mind". And my signature also explains where my experiences brought me.

I never really thought about what my avatar means.
I guess it means "subject X".

As i tagged in many raves in times past under my glyphs etc.

The Inner Mind! I know what ye mean.

Mine..Ummm..that I like to look for strange things on the Mars rover pictures sent back (from Mars exploration rover mission) and have a sense of humor about crazy weird stuff also.

And, that I'm just hanging out here at ATS when not working (making a living) so I can make money to pay bills and read comic books and tech-no thrillers and feed my animals.

I was the best driver in the world even before I was born!
