Two men, apparently for no reason, shot seven children.

One has turned himself in as far as I know.

I'm not sure when people cross the line on gun rights, but this is over the line, your video is under the line.

Just trying to balance everything out!

I'm for gun rights, but I have no idea on what the regulation should be.

Second though, I for god knows, don't want guns illegal, but a certain regulation should be put forth, one that will satisfy and minimize this to the smallest.

The thing is though, they in a split second wounded 7 children, knives now, that would of taken more time, and well if you can stab seven children, your a psycho, it's alot easier to shoot then stab.

That was in Detroit. In Detroit guns are pretty much illegal which ever way they come. The kids that had the weapons weren't even old enough to own handguns.

Gun laws do nothing to stop gun related crimes. In fact in cities with more restrictive gun laws the crime rates are higher.

Not to get too far off topic, just wanted you to understand that is all. That is why the gun grabbers aren't going nuts over this incident, because all the laws they want to implement are just about in place in Detroit. It doesn't look good for their cause.

I've stated blatently that I have no idea what regulation.

I do know that if we ban guns, abiding citizen won't have them, and children killers will.

If everyone has a gun, well then capones are made available everywhere.

It's tough man, but hey then again, i'm sure they thought about banning swords back in the day! Way back that is.

You think if they lessened dramatically the gun restrictions there would be less crime?

actually if guns were illegal it may never have happened, knives are not the same as guns, they are far more personal than a gun, people feel big with guns, whilst the video looked like the family were having a lot of fun and hypocriticaly i would of liked to have had a go, it does go to show how a weapon of death is treated as a recreational toy in your country, it is not respected for its lethality and even little children are given machine guns to play with, america has a problem, but, the first step to a cure is recognising the problem, wise up

They did! In certain periods in Japan it was prohibited for anyone except a Samurai to carry a daisho. Ruling emperors would also go on sword hunts to remove the populace's ability to revolt and thus secure their reign. Seems almost eerily relevant.

In any sense, while I support gun regulation to an extent, such policies will never work in this country because the majority of gun crimes are committed with illegal weapons anyway. There is no logical reason for a citizen to own a fully automatic weapon, with the exception of novelty. However, people will still always find ways to obtain such weapons illegally.

It's a sad state of affairs for America, when things like this happen. Guns are so ingrained in our culture, and there are many, many people who own and use them responsibly. It's just such a shame that psychopaths can take lives so heartlessly and so easily.

Believe me, I wish there was a way to effectively regulate guns, and that we could keep them only in the hands of law-abiding citizens. However, that is a pipe dream, and until then we are at the mercy of criminals, and any of us could be shot at any time for no apparent reason. The only real solution is to move to another country where illegal gun trading is not as prevalent or as widespread as it is here in America.

i would never expect you to undestand you are american, how many people have to die by a bullet before people like you get it, dont you ever wonder what it is like walking down the road without having to worry about wether the man coming towards you is carrying a gun?, come to england or the rest of europe and have a feel, sure we have some bad people running around with illegal guns, its not perfect, but its a damn sight better than the amount of gun deaths your country has, on average 81 people per day, its a high price to pay for you to own a gun

i have never even met anybody with a gun, never seen anyone with a gun, trust me you dont understand how it feels, you might say you do but you dont. you have grown up in a society with many weapons so you probably dont think they are anything but normal.

i think that peoples liberty is better when there are no guns, not when everybody has them. america suffers from approximatly 30,000 gun deaths per year, that includes suicides, but do you honestly think there would be a reduction in that figure with what you are proposing?, i do not think that there would be.

it is people like you that have fuelled the bad name of america in the world and facilitated the demise in the respect of life that has become apparent within your communities, people in the rest of the world look at america as a gun toting gungho society without much respect for anyone else's life, hence the actions of america around the world, a complete disregard for the welfare or value of any bodies life if it is not american.

your country perpetuate the arms race with your greed for bigger and bigger weapons to cause more and more deaths globally and it is all because of peoples with attitudes like yours

every time a thread is about guns in america there is always someone with the car argument, it is so not relevant and the lamest of arguments, car deaths are accidents, a car is built to carry people not kill them, but a gun on the other hand is made to kill!!!, you cannot compare the two

anywhere between 25,000 and 30,000 people are killed each year in the usa from guns, look at the initiatives they have taken in countries like brazil, and have reduced gun crime significantly by banning them

there are some 280,000,000 guns in public hands in america, how many more do you want?
