It's tough man, but hey then again, i'm sure they thought about banning swords back in the day! Way back that is.
They did! In certain periods in Japan it was prohibited for anyone except a Samurai to carry a daisho. Ruling emperors would also go on
sword hunts to remove the populace's ability to revolt and thus secure their reign. Seems almost
eerily relevant.
In any sense, while I support gun regulation to an extent, such policies will never work in this country because the majority of gun crimes are
committed with illegal weapons anyway. There is no logical reason for a citizen to own a fully automatic weapon, with the exception of novelty.
However, people will still always find ways to obtain such weapons illegally.
It's a sad state of affairs for America, when things like this happen. Guns are so ingrained in our culture, and there are many, many people who own
and use them responsibly. It's just such a shame that psychopaths can take lives so heartlessly and so easily.
Believe me, I
wish there was a way to effectively regulate guns, and that we could keep them only in the hands of law-abiding citizens.
However, that is a pipe dream, and until then we are at the mercy of criminals, and any of us could be shot at any time for no apparent reason. The
only real solution is to move to another country where illegal gun trading is not as prevalent or as widespread as it is here in America.
