It is a big problem in the US when the economy in this nation for the last 10 years is been supported by a consumer driven one.
Consumers on a shopping spree of credit card debt and personal loans.
Now that the credit is frozen so the spending spree of the consumers in the nation.
America industrial base is almost none existent and the ones we still have left are mostly foreign owned when If Obama gets away with his cap and
trade bill they will be gone for ever.
As this bill will target businesses the most and will make slave of us the rest of the nation.
America lost its wealth building with free trade and globalization.

He's confident in a recovery... in the same way that GWB was confident there was nothing wrong with the economy 24 hours before it crashed.
Just ignore the clowns.

drawing board.

Yep, on the money indeed.
Only thing that could save us now would be for the world to end up in a war again. A war where the manufacturing base of the world is destroyed and we
are pretty much untouched. THAT will be the only way peoples of many nations will be buying American goods again. You know, as happened post
WWII...
The funny thing is all of the people complaining about the printing of money to keep the boat afloat. That act probably gave Americans another year
worried about a very severe depression vs actually being in one. I personally think we should have bit the bullet last year though because now we are
in for even worse doo doo. All of these dramatic changes in law indicate they are prepping themselves for what is coming. You and I will be left
holding the bag and have to drag them out of their bunkers post SHTF for a proper talking to.
edit for this:
Oh, and all of those nations we bullied and stole from whilst the people were ran roughshod over by our dictator of choice. They may be donning steel
toed boots for when it comes time to 'Kick em while they are down'.

You have to remember Obama has never held a real job in his life, so when he hears people are unemployed he figures no problem they can just live like
him off of other peoples money.

Agreed. He has that 'I'm waaay too suave for this job' walk when he's approaching the podium or just plain making himself visible in public.
I say 'Lose the walk and ante-up on the talk'. As far as I can see, he's PT Barnum's quote/axiom brought to life on steroids, and he's
succeeding because the general masses are stupid.
I fear, a great deal, that this country is in for a rude awakening that will either be too late or too violent once people actually wake-up and smell
the coffee.

Are you honestly in some way blaming Obama for your situation Give the guy a chance to to fix the country..
He is continuing the agenda Bush initiated for the the PTB. He is not opposing things, he is letting "reform" be crippled, is not stopping
lobbying, and is a tool. Just a "better talker" than Bush. Same things going on, except getting worse. Hate bill, Patriot Act still there, then
digging in deeper. Either way, there is no choice, and people allow this to happen.

Wow, I am glad they are having a splendid party while people are celebrating Independence Day on skid row somewhere. This is a poor excuse for public
relations. Why haven't we seen our President actually set foot and talk to the people at the unemployment offices or tent cities and learn from them
first hand about their perils. I don't know but I think he and his cabinet are further insulating themselves from the perils of America. I see no
solidarity from this man or his cabinet.
It as though they are celebrating as if America is experiencing prosperous times. This man touts that he was a community organizer and sees eye to eye
with the under-privileged, but acts such as these and others show that he has no clue. The Romans used a phrase called "panem et circenses," "Bread
and Circuses." In essence, this phrase means that by keeping them(citizens) fed and entertained and we(Roman Imperial Government) can whatever we
wish.

Any real economist will tell you that jobs are the last thing to start to grow when an economy turns around after a recession. This time, some predict
it will be the end of this year or early next year before jobs start to rebound.
The simple truth is that companies have to grow in order to be able to start employing new people again. It's because of demand. Right now there
isn't a whole lot of demand for anything. Not like there used to be. So when people start spending more, companies will have the money to start
employing more people.
It takes a while, it will get there. Yes there are reasons and factors in the economy to make Obama hopeful about a rebound. But job creation is a
lagging indicator of what the economy is doing.

now palin is going to run for president weeeeeeee we are saved !!! at least this country will die faster with palin, obama is not doing a good enough
job because people are still going on vacations, still watching american idol and still think everything is fine.... palin should definitely do the
job, i cant wait
i dont think Ron Paul will run for president, there is no chance for him, .. thats because he would be a great president of this country... he will
surely have a mess to fix, and he will probably not be able to fix it and take the blame for it also, so i wont blame him for running at all... so i
think , its best to select worser president each election... Palin is up next, but i surely cant see another worser president than Palin, so maybe she
will be the one to finish this country off for good...
