tell me if im not being logical here. Labor prices are higher here because of labor laws, ok so to make car part here would be like $100 or to make a car part in China is $10... so ok its smarter to get the parts made for $10 and sell it here for $100 and make 90%

those who were making the part here in USA for $100 started loosing money because they couldnt compete... so they either went out of business, or started doing the same thing, getting their parts made for $10 in China.

meanwhile, all those who were making the parts here for $100 can no longer afford any parts for themselves, but USA doesnt care, because they are so many people who still could afford the $100 part and USA companies who sold these china parts would keep profiting 90% .. yay for them.

so more and more and more companies started sending their parts to be made in China, because they to wanted to profit more, and pay less to make. SO they would lay off more people, cut more jobs, less people would be able to buy these parts, but still some could afford and companies would still keep profit coming in.

Now more and more jobs are sent out to other countries, but the problem is, to many people cant afford these parts, so now those companies who sell much less because they sent out jobs elsewhere, and they took away jobs from USA employers. Thos companies start cutting their prices, or start going out of business, laying off more workers, less people selling, less people shipping, this means those countries start getting less jobs too, because the demand is lower and lower...

so now we have more people without work in USA, less jobs in other countries because USA people cant afford anymore, so other people in other countries need to cut their people too... so now everyone is starting to suffer, the effect is going further and further!

All this because of some idiots who want to profit and are greedy, but they only think short term, and dont plan ahead.

Bring the jobs back to USA!!!! they goal is not to profit the most to keep the economy boosted in USA... the goal is to have more people working!!! this is what will boost the economy and make USA strong again. I wasnt born in America, but i was feel long enough to feel for USA. Im now a citizen and i find it amazing how selfish most americans are, they only care about their own backs, hardly anyone care about anyone else. Other countries people seem to work together in some sense... not Americans, it seems like people just want to profit more and more and nothing else...

now everyone has to suffer while those fat snobs live rich and eat like pigs for the few remaining years of their lifes... to bad this life is only a "test" for us humans, the after is whats the most important of all.

Huh, you aren't supposed to know about the information you posted.

Politicians want you to blame the lost of American jobs on the illegals that are currently in this country. Especially those working at those high paying jobs like McDonald's rather than the high paying jobs that went to China, Mexico, and other countries willing to work for cheaper rates.

Blame the illegals, not the politicians or CEO's that are driving our manufacturing jobs overseas.

Great thread.

Bring back those jobs.

By far the most agreeable point of your post is this,

the goal is not to profit the most to keep the economy boosted in USA... the goal is to have more people working!!!

I've long argued that profit isn't the only measure of a company's success and even less so that of a nation. To have a strong manufacturing base and a high-quality of living for all people is a much better indicator of a country's gross wealth.

Sadly companies have far too much control and we're now engaged in a long protracted fight to the bottom. I have no doubt when all value has been transferred from the USA to other nations, China will ultimately use it as a mechanism to throw the United States into financial ruin.

The only thing the United States has left is its military. No doubt, soon we'll have to use it.

China already has our money. Our dollars are belong to them.

OP you are exactly right. Its a sad fact, but you can scream it from the top of your lungs if you like, very few Americans will hear you. Why? Because what you are advocating is interfering with the holy free market. Its OMFG socialism. Even when people are starving, there will be many who insist that the govt must not create jobs directly or interfere to prevent what's left being offshored. Insane yes, but true.

This is the very benchmark of socialism and to a degree communism - it is fascinating to note that the doctrine of Karl Marx stated implicitly that for communism to succeed capitalism first must fail - that is why the attempts at communism were premature - communism can only come about now - and it will. There is no choice for any logical mind other than communism - once you understand why you will be shocked - the only thing we need to guard against in communism and capitalism is totalitarianism and despots - other than that there is nothing to fear except ignorance and fear.

This problem has been in the making for years. I believe since the massive influx of foreign products, in the name of "free trade".

I remember watching a news conference, many years ago, by the CEO of GM. While explaining the closure of several US plants, he drew attention to the increasing number of foreign automobiles in the GM employee parking lots. This is just as economically destructive as US companies using foreign labor forces, who can not afford to be consumers of the products they manufacture.

I put blame on the American people, who purchase foreign products, as much as the Corporations which move jobs out of the country. Both have done tremendous damage to our country.

Unfortunately, due to the cycle of destruction, many products we use are no longer available from US manufacturers.

I still believe the solution is up to the consumers, in a free market. I know I do not want the government trying to control it. However, it requires the consumers to educate themselves on the products and how they affect the whole. This is as opposed to what I refer to as the 'Walmart Generation'. The mentality of cheaper is always better. The attitude of 'If I buy cheaper stuff, I can buy more stuff!'

Time to wake up America (people)! We can take control, if we take responsibility.

I must say though, in a time of high unemployment, to see illegal aliens still doing jobs "Americans don't want" .. is infuriating..

I would go so far as to say anyone hiring an illegal should be deported along with their workers.

All this because of some idiots who want to profit

That is called capitalism and it is a hallmark of the "American Dream".

You forgot to mention that when workers could no longer afford to buy they were given massive amounts of credit to faciliate the rampant consumerism that is also a hallmark of the "American Dream".

People need to understand that the job of making stuff is no longer in the domain of the west - It's time to move on, clearly corporations have. Your jobs will not come back.

America ( and the West in general) needs to find something else for their labour force to specialize in, Alas they moved too slow on the whole IT thing. So it is imperative that something else take the place of the manufacturing base. The longer you wait around and hope that the jobs come back, the longer that China and India have to get their labour force ready for the next phase.

They've been planning this carbon tax scheme for decades.
They have exported all the dirty high carbon producing industries to other countries who have been made rich because of this export of employment.

These countries will now or very soon, have to start paying the piper, their fair share of Carbon Tax and this money that was exported to these countries will come back to us in Carbon Credits which will be able to be cashed in.

Ka-ching!!

Seriously, its the absolute only thing that makes any iota of sense to me.
