Heads up (pun intended) There has been a large batch of missprinted 20 pence coins, with NO date on. They are now worth 50 quid. So check before you spend them!!!

Here is the coin in question, some of which are on ebay for well over the 50 quid that they royal mint are offering. undated20p.com...

So, how p*ssed off will I be if I've been sticking these in the minstrel machine down the pub. 50 notes for 6 bits of chocolate is going some, even for me

I'm a collector. I can recall having error penny's, etc when I was a kid. I've seen some recently that are close to what I had (and tossed) that are selling for over $1000. Kicking myself in the behind?

Hey, I did get lucky though. I purchased an early release 2008-W Silver Eagle Reverse of 2007 at roughly $250 back when it was discovered. Now it's up to around $1000. Not to mention there hasn't been an official release of the statistics from the mint. They speculate that it's only around 47k.

If you can grab one or two. I'm sure that the numbers will be much less. The estimate is what were actually stamped, not what were distributed. It's not an error, but a variety, keep that in mind.

Good luck with your search for rare coins. I wish that you stumble upon one so rare, that you can retire and live a happy life

I will say this. ALWAYS take a look at your change and research the date and where it was minted. Don't pay with change if you can. Keep the coins and research every one. You never know what you may find. There is a market for rare or error coins. Educate yourself.

That opening post url looks decidedly dodgy. You are supposedly meant to contact undated20p.com rather than the London Mint!!!!

Yeah right, you sell them tp undated20.com, who then ebay them for £160!

I suggest you ebay them yourself before taking up the kind offer of udated20p.CON

Whilst I agree with you 100% (cos they're going for well over 50 quid on ebay) I got the impression that the site i linked to was a sub site of the royal mint. (big ass logo bit at the bottom of the page made me think that) Could well be wrong though. (I usually am

I put 20p error into the London Mints own website and got a nothing found error.

Could be legit, but the media tab shows a dorset postal address as opposed to the about address which is London.

Seller beware!!!

Actually, it seems to be a legit Pr company. But I think I would still ebay it before I sent it to them!
