Yes, I belive that Wardenclyffe was that generator. If you consider the amount of mass involved in the ball on top of the tower and the purpose of
that ball, in comparison to the ball on top of tesla coil, you can clearly see the tower was designed to deal with an insanely large power source.
It surely was not powered by a steam boiler and a few lumps of coal.
Wardenclyffe was built on Long Island. No dam or waterfall to tap for power generation there.
The first tower he built out west blew out the generators which powered it and an entire town. The ball on that tower was tiny. I believe he misjudged
the magnitude of the power he was tapping into.
