You are correct Armap. They may not have used carbon-dating in particular but they did use some form of radioactive dating process. I'm just not exactly sure which (I had assumed carbon-dating but maybe not?).

We were discussing this in alot more detail in THIS thread by zorgon. You can see my related post on all thisHERE in that thread. But the dating of some of the moon rocks creates a discrepancy that doesn't seem to have ever been directly confronted.

To keep it brief, The idea I posted was this..
Maybe the planet that was impacted wasn't earth at all. Maybe there was another earth-like planet with an orbit very similar to earth's that was impacted by another object. Thus, maybe our moon was really the moon of another planet that earth then captured after it's host planet "tossed it out" into an oblique-type orbital pattern. Just an idea I had.
