First of all...let's go back to what he said throughout his entire campaign....
NO tax increases for those making less than 250,000 thousand a year.
Obama on cap and trade.....
Oh, and let's not forget about the cigarette tax increase.
I would like to know.....what is the actual percentage of the entire American public who WANTS their energy bills increased?
It can't possibly be the majority of people....which once again proves that our government doesn't give a damn!
Why do they even bother voting anymore? Why don't they just give the executive branch total control...why even put on this freaking show anymore?
This bill is the equivalent of throwing gasoline on a fire....people simply cannot afford this!!
It's just another thing that benefits the rich and corrupt and hurts the working class!

Should rename the plan to: CRAP AND STEAL
We are in the midst of the WORST economic times in recent history and he comes straight out and tells us that our power bills will SKYROCKET!
SCREW YOU OBAMA! Our bill doubled last year and you would see it TRIPLE this year!

Nobody wants their energy bills increased. But all the "greenies" think it will force companies to research and but more money to alternative
energy.
They are living in fantasy land. They don't understand that the companies that will survive this stuff will have no motivation to produce alternative
energy because their profits will be sky high.
But you know, what do the "deniers" know. We are just neanderthals that are stupid and don't know anything.

Like any politician he is a liar. What he said in the campaign was and is irrelevant to him now, he is pushing at full throttle toward his goal of
complete reform that will give government unprecedented powers, to destroy the capitalist system, and the moves they have made so far clearly expose
his hidden agenda.
The people are secondary to the ultimate goals they have and that is to bring down the economy in order to take complete control of it, and nearly
every aspect of the people's lives.
The cap and tax plan will cost everyone immensely, and the worst part is that it will eliminate millions more jobs at the worst possible time.
If this legislation in not stopped in the senate it will be time for Americans to revolt.
The US must be destroyed at several levels in order for the Obama administration and congress to achieve their ultimate goals, they know it, they also
know they do not have a lot of time to make it happen... And they are well on the way to accomplishing their goals.
Think of what they have control over now, and what they are openly planning to do in the future.
We will become a socialist country, with a government that is more massive and powerful than ever before, and will be more intrusive into our lives
than at any time in our history. This government will crush the capitalist system, what is left they will own and control. You will work where they
want you to, you will drive what they tell you to, you will have NO choice in your personal and family health care plan, your success potential will
be severely limited. You will be taxed in every possible way.
The final blow will be when it all breaks down and this government gets complete control of the food industry. And that is also in the works.
They MUST be STOPPED.
Fight the passage of this legislation in every way you can, let your voices be heard and fire them all when the time comes to vote... It is the only
way, and could be our last chance to save our country as we know it.

Good point look at what the car industry accomplished putting billions of dollars into cleaner running auto's. An electric car that almost no one
uses. Hydrogen cars that almost no one uses. And why don't we use them? I can't use electric because the weather would kill the batteries so fast
it would be cheaper to buy a gas guzzler not like the batteries are affordable after the charges completely ware out.
I've never even seen a hydrogen car on a car lot yet in my area much less an electric one. No one here would be able to refill it anyway so I would
have to use all gas.
And this started what a decade ago?
They claim you get better gas millage I call BS I got better gas millage in my truck back in 94 than I do today and it had better mileage than a new
vehicle does today. Excluding the hydrogen car sense I've never seen one.
I was driving about 800 miles on one tank of gas have never come close to that sense.
So saying this will change anything is just a farce. 10 years from now we'll have cleaner running systems but we'll have to pay more for the
utilities because it cost more to run the systems. Guaranteed when it does happen the tax won't be dropped it will be raised in order to research
why they world in entering into an ice age.

While discussing this with my dad he brought up an interesting point...you know how much money per gallon goes to the government? Now, if we go
"green", how is the government going to get all the money they used to from the gas tax? Flawed ideas left and right...

Here comes Cap And Trade, losers!
And YOU voted for it!
I'd rather pay $3 a gallon instead of getting soaked to charge the mini Chi-Com electro-vehicles.
And charge the cellphone. And the laptop. And run the refrigerator. And the TV. And the computer. And the other computer. And the microwave. And the
heater. And the lights. And the lava lamp.
Electric bills are going to triple and you will cry like a baby.

I know that I can't be the only one who will not be able to take many more years of this. My company gave zero raises last year due to the economy,
yet the cost of living skyrocketed. The economy is going to most likely be just as gloomy, if not worse this year. So, another year of no raises and
skyrocketing cost of living expenses. I can only absorb this so long before something has to give. The end result of this will be large amounts of
unemployed people and the "lucky" people who still have jobs will simply be slaves to the state to pay for their carbon footprint.

I'm sure there are millions of Americans and that number is growing by the day that feel just like you.
People are getting tired of having legislation shoved down their throats. They are saying though that this bill isn't going to make it through the
Senate, which is very good.
The straws are piling up on the camels back and soon enough it will break. The one thing about this bill is they need this bill to pass the senate in
order for them to pass the health care plan, because the tax increases with this Cap and Trade crap will allow them to do a reconciliation with the
health care plan which in reconciliation they only need 50 votes instead of the 60, it just has to be deficit neutral.

Good question!! Where are all the liberals? Where is the defense of this illconcieved bill?
Every premise that this bill is based on is flawed."Global warming" "Global cooling"'Climate change" however they are touting these days,is a
natural cycle. In a year trees give off more co2 at night than our cars do in the same time span. People are stupid and buy into this trash, hook line
and sinker.

I've posted this question on a few threads about this BS Cap and Trade:
Where are all the Obama supporters? Where is his cheerleading section on ATS, the ones that were constantly crowing about how he is so much better
than Bush, he is so much better than Sarah Palin, how Obama was going to make things just so, so perfect for everyone?
Obama has been in office since 20 Jan and he's done more damage to this country than Bush did in eight years.
His BS stimulus bill: done nothing to stimulate the economy.
Cap and Trade: Destroy small industries in America, raise energy rates for all Americans at a time when things are hard, raise the cost of everything,
actually; cause more umemployment.
Healthcare plan: Gimme a break! Having the Government in charge of heath care is going to screw it up, big time. Also, did anyone read that plan? Do
they know that Congress is exempt from it? Guess it's not good enough for them, but just perfect for the serfs.
I think the only industry or business that's doing well right now is firearms and ammo.
Obama is rapidly becoming the worse president in the history of the US. When he's through, there probably won't be a US left.

How long will it take before Obama gets some tax or big restriction on that?
Anything that equals t some sort of freedom is being attacked relentlessly by this administration.
A rise in energy cost is one of the best ways to screw us over. When food and goods start getting expensive because of high energy costs, watch the
government impose price controls then we get huge shortages and long lines. What better way for more government control.

Well, they are starting. They want to start to serial number ammo. And to pay for this, they will be imposing a five cent tax on each round. Thanks
again, Obama!!!!

Is it just me or does it seem like this admin and congress are doing everything they possibly can to start a civil war in this country.
This Cap and Trade BS can be used to make ammunition prices sky rocket. For the simple fact that the "administrator" that will dole out the carbon
credits can say ammo manufactures need to buy 3 times the amount of carbon credits.
This bill is bad bad news.

Liberal or not, I don't think anyone believes Cap and Trade is a good idea. It's just a perpetuation of the money-grabbing machine our
government has become. I imagine this will be the final straw for those who still support Obama and the Democrats, and hopefully will be a major
wake-up call to America that our two-party system has enabled criminals to take over our land and our laws.

Seriously? Did you take biology in high school? Trees give off CO2 at night most assuredly, but less than they absorb in the daytime. Trees are
fairly balanced and overall absorb more CO2 than they emit. Our automobiles only give off CO2, they don't absorb any at all. So I'm afraid
your logic is slightly flawed there.
Also, it is important to consider that other greenhouse gasses, such as methane, and other pollutants are also released into the atmosphere as a
result of combustion engines.
Denying climate change (or more accurately the cause of climate change) is one thing, and I would agree that it is mostly due to natural cycles.
However, denying the environmental impact of human development is completely ignorant.

I didn't mention absorbtion rates,I just was making the point that there are many things that give off co2.The amount trees give off is larger than
the amount autos do.
I would never say people don't contribute,I just believe it is an inflated scare tactic,to say that man is the greatest cause,

I agree about hydrogen at least for many years the costs are way to high, but electric cars are practical now for some (luxury vehicles/sports cars),
and with better energy storage technology and ramping up of production will be practical for all soon.
I don't think you realize how many dollars are focused on improving battery tech and or capacitors. The problems will be solved and soon,
nanotechnology will absolutely be able to solve the problem if it comes to that.
The first step will be plug in hybrids and even if they are only able to hold a 30 mile charge due to battery costs that is still a humongous energy
savings because that is enough for most peoples daily commute.
