I think that with the voting in of John Kerry the US will have a flashback to the 1990s/1960s--it'll be about economic expansion (except for the
"real" middle-class and the poor), "new-frontierism" (especially in Middle-Eastern, Asian, & African countries--and space exploration), and lots
of disposable income (except for the "real" middle class & the poor). The US had been so stressed-out over the last several years that it will just
explode in bread-and-circuses, luxury-items, overnight-fortunes--and lots of sex. We will coast around like this for a bit and then have some "speed
bumps" that will undermine our confidence--still we sally forth, only now we're more jaded and fatalistic...we see a replay of the 1970s. Rome
before the fall of Rome. Much more selfishness, sexual liberties (in a bad way...like screwing around like tomorrow will never come), our teenagers
(kids when 911 happened) get morbid & goth & feel that we have no future. And we slide into 2012. Home base!
And obviously by 2104 the US will be absorbed into the New World Order. The world will probably be broken down into 2-3 separate "mega-nations"
tops, if not completely identifying itself as EARTH. The aliens will help scare us into making ourselves into one humongous planet-state.
