You know, I am starting to get the feeling that those against a volunteer program...they are not worried about the program; rather, I think they are concerned about the public ridicule and shame that will drive them to volunteer just to save face.

Your point is very well made. That opens the door to another point outside of this thread of other things to come as sheeple will not volenteer, jails are too full and a very little few will cause civil unrest but this issue and some others are being monitored by the powers that be. Those who go along are compliled, those who are not completely sure of which direction to go are compiled and those who are defiant have a place nicely being kept just for them.

When the next huge event occurs, only then will everybody have their place in this NWO!

I'm trying to explain that whether it's mandatory or not We The People are already nothing more than wage slaves on a leash, working everyday for the profits of a few. The fact that he asks YOU & ME to lower OUR sights, instead of asking the richest corporate 'owners' and banksters to lower THEIR share of profit is why I'm not thrilled about his call to serve, to say the least. Let me make this as easy as I can for you:

WE the masses are poor; THEY the few are filthy rich beyond belief.

Yes I have...but it isn't going in the pockets of the innocent, poor, under educated high school CHILDREN that are being recruited. What do I see happening to the enlisted? Death, Under payment, lack of appreciation...

When the day comes that those who disagree with this bill posting on this thread it will be already reported in every city, county and state news outlets as some will have the ability to sue and there will be law suits that win because this is wrong to mandate our children to serve as this admin has stated since Nov 08.

Gee, how much service should I provide further? I gave 15 years of service in the U.S. Army and earned much less than Obama will have been paid for his present "service" to the community at large. Oh, and I got the added plus of disease and physical impairment for my time. I donate time and experience to a group called HOBY each summer. Um........donate paintings to charity auctions 3 to 4 times each year. Uh, now that HOBY is over for the year, please Mr. President, can I take off this summer, or should I go out and spend some big bucks on a pair of fancy sneakers so I can feed poor people for a photo op? Oh, and those commercials with the red jacketed young people giving up a year of their life to donate their time, very touching. Great PR move. Oh, yeah, I also put in my victory garden so that I can donate the extra vegetables to the food closet, and I did it even without the help of little kids and photographers. Oh, yeah, mustn't forget the art classes I teach for free in the local Montessori middle school throughout the school year. Mr. Obama, can I have a free pass on this volunteerism you say is my national duty this summer?

Ok, so with unemployement off the charts, economy on quick sand, industries failing left and right, bailout money going toward banks and auto makers, people who have jobs are struggling to pay bills let alone buy anything to keep the economy running, but the great savior lord and messiah Obama's great solution to all of our problems are to volunteer with no pay? I have been against this moronic idea from the start. Instead of wasting trillions on bailouts and handouts, wouldn't it be better to instead make these "mandatory volunteer" services into actual jobs? That would solve the unemployement crisis and i don't care what they say, any out of job American would happily pick up trash, or clean up a park if they are paid.

That is how the world works, you work to get paid to pay bills, buy necessities and even unnecessities to keep the economy flowing. Unless Obama's big plan is to outlaw money. I don't have a problem with volunteering, but the word itself is the key word VOLUNTEER. I would rather do it for the cause I care for, not for what the governement or our great savior says. How can they possibly expect people with little or nothing to actually give to others in their exact situation? I don't care what the penalty is, I won't do it unless I'm paid. But then again, the penalty is probably those camps everyone here goes on about and get a good "re-Education".

I was talking about HB 1388 Obama's Civilian National Security force. It says all children will perform community service, even in kindergarten. check it out!

I've just looked over all six versions - I am looking at the most resent one that is up

if you would find the sub claus as this bill basically amends the 1990 version of the COMMUNITY SERVICE ACT of 1990 - George Bush Sr passed And the 1974 act Domestic Volunteer ACT Which was passed by FORD???

Basically what I am getting at here is HB 1388 is built upon things that have been institutional in the USA since Kennedy.

Now I ask you, please show me or tell me the sub clauses that would make it MANDATORY for children to serve. A good way to find that is to fine the penalties sub clauses that are part of the frame work of such a bill. Thus far I see no such lingo
and without such lingo, what you are eluding too is pure HOPE/Speculation -

Seems to me this bill is aimed to create tax and social service incentives for people WHO want to participate. It is also aimed at saving tax payers money by bypassing private contracts on activities and work which can be fulfilled by willing citizens in exchange for educational incentives- NOT AS GOOD AS THE GI BILL, not close.

As I have said please, if you believe this will be enforced by FORCE show me the proof... This is an expansive bill, yet it is hardly what YOU and other make it out to be.

My PRE LAW experience will be enough as this is not too complicated, so push some good addendum and amending upon me.

At last glance I see that there is protection for the government in case too many people seek to utilize this program.
Plus the funding is WEAK - Spend more dropping bombs in a month and providing IRAQI COMMUNITY SERVICE

There are also 20 + revisions of terms and
