An American investigative journalist, who claims that swine flu strains have been engineered in two universities in the US and Canada, says they've been deliberately designed to resist vaccines.

Reddit Wayne Madsen also says that his so-called “nightmare scenario”, in which swine flu could mutate with bird flu, has been suppressed by the World Health Organisation for political reasons.

“These would increase sales for new vaccines manufactured by the pharmaceutical industry,” Madsen said.

Since the outbreak started in April, health officials in the United States have also said that infections have been mild for the most part, and most people recover fairly quickly. Testing has found that the H1N1 virus remains susceptible to two common antiviral drugs, Tamiflu and Relenza.

During the next few months, CDC scientists will be looking to see if the swine flu virus mutates or becomes resistant to antiviral medications or is more easily spread among people.

U.S. health officials have said there's no way to tell now if the H1N1 virus will be more virulent when -- and if -- it returns to the Northern Hemisphere with the approach of winter.

Swine Flu: Prepare, Protect, Pull Through

For those may be new to the topic, here is a summary of the Health Essentials:
- End every warm shower or bath with a cold shower. This increases immunity.
- Drink enough fluid, hot or warm water — about seven glasses per day; more if you exercise. Herbal teas are good; juices are not.
- Eat as healthily as you can with vegetables (cooked and raw), mushrooms (never raw!) fruit, nuts, whole grains, legumes (beans, lentils, garbanzos) and fish. Cut down on meats and buy organically whenever possible. Stop eating processed, artificial, canned, micro-waved and fried food. Avoid sugars, white starches and dairy altogether. Only with healthy fare is your immune system able to fight the invaders.

If its US-made, its not resistant to a known anti virus. No government would risk the safety of its richest most crucial players. If it was made here, rest assured that theres a cure and that you will never hear about it.

Now, if its mutated beyond our control, thats dangerous, but not US-made

I think (unfortunately) that the NE section of the US will be hard hit by this new flu, and there will be a lot of disruption, possibly travel restrictions, quarantines, in that area.

The US needs some really good thinkers, and innovative to think of alternate approaches for this flu problem. Pumping out massive doses of unknown, perhaps dangerous flu shots, well, this needs some rethinking.

I would much rather the government be promoting a nationwide supplement program, say 2000IU of vitamin d for all Americans.

I have read that there is some pretty funky stuff in those flu shots. They may help with the flu, but at what cost?
