Darkness surrounds me
no light there is to find
All I hear is my own voice
is this all in my mind
I see an image forming
like pixels taking form
what is happening to me
this cannot be the norm
I hear something new now
growls and fluttering wings
I have no idea what this is
I wonder what it means
The pictures getting clearer
right behind my eyes
this is totally crazy
its demons and butterflies
I understand I am dreaming
then it becomes clear
the image I see represents
the feelings of love and fear
Love is like the butterfly
beautiful and frail
the demon wants to kill it
he knows he must not fail
He swallows the butterfly
as he gleefully sings
what he has forgotten
is the butterfly has wings
She flies out of his throat
and glides into the sky
free to spread her love again
all the demon can do is cry
It was a crazy dream
but I understood it too
give love wings to fly
it just might rescue you!

Is this an original work? It was nice. A break from all the wacky stuff I find in reality. Thank you for sharing it. I will have to check out some of your other stuff. On another note and I'm sure I'm asking something that I should be able to find, how do you get writer status?

You know what I really love about your poetry?
How they end. A lot of your work seems to build up to the ending and then BAM! a thought provoking or heart wrenching ending, which in turn leaves me, the reader with something to value. Ultimately just reading through some of your work can entirely change my immediate mood or perspective. What better way to write a poem!!
