PBS Limits Television Masses

ARLINGTON, Virginia, JUNE 23, 2009 (Zenit.org).- The U.S. Public Broadcasting Service, consisting of 354 member television stations, is banning all new religious programming, though it will allow current shows to continue.

I thought this article was pretty interesting. It sounds like the beginning of the religious persecutions predicted in the bible.

"You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved. But whenever they persecute you in one city, flee to the next; for truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes." Matt. 10:22-23

What do you guys think? This is a thread about religious prophecy. Please no religion bashing! Thank you!

Don't take this the wrong way, but this is not about religious prophecy.. it is about business policy.

If they decide to not air something, it is their choice.. and not because it was predetermined by the stars.

They are letting the religious shows that have been airing stay. If this was strictly religious persecution, all of the the religious programming would be gone. "After a review of the policies, the board decided to uphold the ban on religious programs, but compromised by allowing shows with a previous history on the station to continue."

To also limit the kind of replies you receive to this thread is the opposite of what discussion boards represent.

Ive watched PBS for many may years now, on and off. I cannot say i ever saw tehm broadcast any religous stuff anyway...not that im aware of. They usualy have british dramas, that kids show Ton the train was popualr, and some news...never any religous stuff...how can they ban something they never aired?lol
Seems very unamerican to do that regardless..i mean we are the great melting pot of the world, every culture race and religion is here, catholic/christian being the majority...not supopsed to mean yuo ban a religion! Does seem kinda like a holy war in a sesne dosnt it? Religious persecution is a beter term maybe. IM just saying..for those tha belive in jesus and god.. its yuor choice and test to listen and follow..they would never hve forced any religion on us.. maybe the entire 3nd and something board are all athiests?

most likely pbs are just fed up of people complaining because they show one religion , then when they show the other , other people complain and so on and so forth... just bann it all .. then noone religious can have a problem with any of their shows
WIN WIN!

Hahaha really? Maybe no one wants to watch that bull# and it's bad for their business.

I agree with you but thats why I said that this could be only the beginning of religous persecution. They gotta start easy so that not many people notice at first but when people realize what is happenning, it is too late to do anything. Just like socialist countries in the past.

Maybe they're doing it because the corporation for public broadcasting is funded with tax payer dollars. It makes sense to not broadcast religious programming on a public station.

Is it persecution? A sign of the end times? The beginning of state mandated atheism?

YES!!
1. I don't want my tax dollars supporting these shows.
2. There are already dozens of them, we don't need anymore.
3. Maybe there will be some decent late night programming now besides all the religious stuff!!!!!!

This is a good thing.

Sorry I just don't see the need for 15 religious shows on during the same hour-block. I know every branch of Christianity is different, but they all have the same Bible. And honestly there's only one Judaic show on in my area, and no other religious groups are recognized at all.

If they pay their own way, then thumbs up for them. But this has been bothering me for years, I've even written papers on it.

Besides if someone is really religious, shouldn't they be at Church or praying? Not watching others do it on TV... it's like fishing or golf...
