U.S. Defeats Spain in Major Soccer Upset

BLOEMFONTEIN, South Africa -- The U.S. soccer team pulled off a major upset Thursday, beating top-ranked Spain 2-0 on goals by Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey.

The victory sends the Americans to the Confederations Cup final, and snaps Spain's 15-game winning streak. Spain hadn't been beaten since a loss to Romania in November 2006.

If this isn't a sign of the coming of the end of the world, I don't know what is. Spain is the best national team in the world and the US shut them out today 2-0.

The US will face either Brazil or South Africa in the Confederations Cup Final this Sunday.
