Happy World UFO day! No, I was not aware of it either until this morning, but since we are celebrating those ever elusive disks we might as well take the poll titled "Do you believe there are alien civilizations living on other planets?"

Here's the link!
Do you believe there are alien civilizations living on other planets?

Here are the numbers when I took the poll!

UFO day History

On June 24, 1947, Idaho pilot Ken Arnold spotted a group of unidentified flying objects over Mt. Rainier, Wash., sparking worldwide speculation of government cover-ups and fear of extraterrestrial invasion. To mark the occasion of this first reported UFO sighting, June 24 is known as World UFO Day.

Thanks for sharing this with us MysterE! My only problem with polls like this is that (a) it allowed me to vote twice, and presumably more if I chose and (b) the nature of the people who might come in contact with the poll probably lean towards belief in "visitors".

I know I'm going to kick myself for saying this, but I'd love to see this very poll being put for by MSM, with a free method of voting. I'm guessing that the overall results would change, however still with the majority of people believing in the existance of sentient nonhumans, ETs, EBEs, etc.

I agree, I doubt anyone will take this poll too seriously, but it will still be more ligitimate then the Iran vote!

OK, who decided that this was "World UFO day"? It should be only the "USA UFO day", or is there any international organisation that decides about the "World days" (something I never heard about, only "International days") and decided that?

And mixing conspiracies, could there be a relation between that event and the fact that today is St. John's day, the most popular saint and the one with more local holidays, at least here in Portugal (it's holiday here in Almada too
)

PS: but it's funny that I joined ATS on this same day five years ago.

UFO day sounds a lot more fun. Let's have a celebration! Who like's Pie and tequila? Prizes for the most creative.....whatever...

lol, actually had no idea, even though I'm a big time UFO buff.

My vote was absolutely Yes. There are definitely millions of different kinds of alien civilizations out there and more than likely we have been visited throughout our history.

Regards,

This website tells you how to celebrate WUFOD!

Step 1 Invite friends and family to get together to watch the sky. The purpose of UFO Day is to organize a worldwide UFO watch, keeping millions of eyes on the sky on the same night. Familiarize yourself with the night sky beforehand, so you'll know what to look for.

Step 2 Make t-shirts for your guests that say "I Want to Believe."

Step 3 Put neon green chem lights in the punch bowl and tell everyone it's alien juice. Use a clear (not red) punch recipe.

Step 4 Launch helium balloons with messages of peace for aliens in a symbolic gesture of friendship. Attach your thoughts on extraterrestrials and the cosmos in general.

Step 5 Honor the memory of Carl Sagan by buying and watching the movie "Contact."

I'm gonna do it!

Now we even have in UFOlogy someone telling us what to do.

What's next, a World Wide UFO Organisation telling us what a UFO should look like?
