On June 24, 1947, Idaho pilot Ken Arnold spotted a group of unidentified flying objects over Mt. Rainier, Wash., sparking worldwide speculation of government cover-ups and fear of extraterrestrial invasion. To mark the occasion of this first reported UFO sighting, June 24 is known as World UFO Day.

UFO day sounds a lot more fun. Let's have a celebration! Who like's Pie and tequila? Prizes for the most creative.....whatever...
Step 1 Invite friends and family to get together to watch the sky. The purpose of UFO Day is to organize a worldwide UFO watch, keeping millions of eyes on the sky on the same night. Familiarize yourself with the night sky beforehand, so you'll know what to look for.
Step 2 Make t-shirts for your guests that say "I Want to Believe."
Step 3 Put neon green chem lights in the punch bowl and tell everyone it's alien juice. Use a clear (not red) punch recipe.
Step 4 Launch helium balloons with messages of peace for aliens in a symbolic gesture of friendship. Attach your thoughts on extraterrestrials and the cosmos in general.
Step 5 Honor the memory of Carl Sagan by buying and watching the movie "Contact."
