Do you Twitter?

Twitter is everywhere you look these days and I finally broke down and registered. I believe I've had an account for a few weeks now but I've never done anything with it. I've spent the last hour messing around with it and trying to set it up. It's only been a few minutes but I'd have to say I like what I have so far.

Any tips/recommendations from anyone who has been on twitter for longer?

The only friends I follow on Twittier seem to be ATSers!
It kinda makes me feel dirty when I tweet!
Mutter is better Twitter
But I shall hop on and follow you Make it interesting! But i cant promise Ill actually read anything posted!

Is there a delay in the updating of the lists when you follow someone or someone follows you?

I dont think he set it up throug the ATS portal as hes not getting ATS live feeds/tweets

Yeah, I got that much. I'm getting the updates from the ATS account.

But when I look at my own lists, it doesn't list any of the new people I am following or the new people that are following me.

Check the twitter status, they are correcting problems with follower and following number.Status

And btw, you have a new follower.

I don't do it nor have I ever looked at the site.
I don't care to much for everybody telling me when they are getting home, or having for lunch, or watching on TV.
I just don't care about those little things when I have a plethora of my own little things to keep track of.

Sometimes you have to refresh manually.
Just hit the home link

Well you can do the "@" (AT thing) ie @dgtempe hello ?
that will show up in your "replies"

If you were to go to the CNN page you could direct message
if your dgtempe on twitter I'll show you.

theres so much out there to follow on Twitter!

If you are in to space you can follow 2 astronaughts who tend to twitter every day on what there doing! Even going to the shops ect lol,

I got the pleasure of being able to ask a question to one live on Nasa TV! he read out my tweet and answerd it!

Twitter is also great for getting on top of the latest news from people who are right on the spot, Say "Iran" you can search that and people who may be protesting will be on there mobiles saying whats going on,

Today there saying there is major violence

I love Twitter. People who think it's just a bunch of people saying they're going to the bathroom or watching TV are clueless. You can get news, updates on every sports game in the planet, pictures from events as they happen, and a bunch of stuff you can follow. Type anything into the search and there's hundreds of people talking about it. Shows, movies, events, whatever.

Yeah, I agree. Once you actually engage Twitter you can see that it is so much more. I'm really enjoying it so far.

I actually broke down myself and made a twitter account. It was fun for about a few days and then it just got extremely boring and pointless. So I rarely go on anymore. I can see if you have tons of friends and alot of followers. But if you dont, its pretty pointless.

Tweeks and addons for twitter that make it even better.

One such Firefox browser add on is Power Twitter.

The main features of this release include:

1) inline embedded media from Flickr, YouTube, TwitPic and others
2) expanded URLs so you can see where links might take you
3) twitter search and search results right on the page
4) peek - an avatar mouseover that lets you see recent tweets from that person
5) status updates that are happening with your friends on Facebook
6) when possible additional web updates (Flickr, blogs, etc.) for certain usersext

These are of course FREE and they work great.
They have totally change the Twitter experience for me and I would find it hard to go back to just the Twitter page.
