Israel is to allocate $ 250 million to further expand its settlements in the occupied West Bank territories over the next two years despite
international objections.
The figure is contained in the 2009-2010 budget, which passed its first reading in the Knesset (parliament) last week, army radio said Sunday.
The move by the Knesset comes despite calls by the international community including Tel Aviv's staunch ally--Washington-- to Israel to halt its
settlement expansion.

Geez leave some land for the other guys. Next thing u know they will be living on the border line.

This is the clear defiance of the child called Israel. They've just bitten the hands that fed them, good luck on this smart decision Israel!

I really don't get what this accomplishes.
Weren't they just physically removing Jewish settlement groups from their homes about a year ago. So now they are going to move more in, so they can
force them out in a few years?
Just a lack of logic. It is moves like this that really hinder the two-state solution.

Israel doesn't want a two state solution. They could have had one a long time ago. Maybe it's the US who doesn't want it -- who can tell when it
comes to what Israel does. The US keeps her on a pretty short leash, and uses her innocent population as cannon fodder, while TPTB use the fear to
stay in power, and keep the wars going for I don't know what reason.

This has to stop now; it is absurd what is going on both sides.
There should be an ultimatum either borders stay the way they are and you get three nations, Gaza, Israel and the West Bank or No one gets the land
(which I agree with most)
The only way to stop the problems that occur in the region is a
1 Land swap which wont happen
2 To piss everybody off and no one land on the land.
Both sides want the same thing so neither should get it to be fare or slip it down the middle one side gets half and the opposing gets the other half.
People that have nothing to do with the issue are picking sides because of this or that religion. That has to stop right now this conflict should
only concern those within the area everybody else should be neutral.
