I must warn you though that a national health service will not necessarily improve the process. In the UK there is an extreme shortage of NHS dentists and getting onto a dental practice's books can often involve months of waiting.

There is a way around this though, change your name to something like Geta, get a good tanning lotion and a long black robe, make yourself some breasts.

Now walk into your nearest council office crying that your husband beats you or that people in your country want to kill you for being pro British. You'll get a nice roof over your head and instant access to medical treatment paid for by someone who can't afford it for his own family.

He could indeed. Believe it or not, there is freedom outside the United States of America. The poor are not discriminated against where I come from. Everyone has access to health care. No-one is turned away.

You should be able to get it extracted for about $150. Go to the Yellow Pages and start calling around and compare prices. If you have to go to the Emergency Room or Walk-In Clinic. I've been in the same situation and know plenty of others who have as well. Your best bet if you really don't have the money is to start calling all of the dentists, hospitals, clinics, etc., telling them of your plight and asking them if they can work with you. If they can't ask them if they know of where you can turn to for help. Bartering might be an option, or maybe a payment plan, or possibly some sort of program based on financial need. If you are up for it and you have to, most dentists have dental care loan programs, just like when you go car shopping. You can get preapproved before you even go in for the appointment.



Tooth pain is the absolute worst.

I feel your pain man, been there. If you go to the dentist which you should, thats speaking from experience. Find a dentist that has payment plan. Let them know it's an emergency, they may be able to move appointments around to get you in that same day.

What might happen is they will take x-rays and the dentist will decide if the tooth can be repaired or not. If your in that much pain im guessing the tooth needs to be removed, plus it's cheaper for a removal.
He/She will get you a perscription for antibiotics, and possibly some sweet pain killers.
But, I don't think they will do any work on the tooth until the infection is gone,(I could be wrong) so you will have a return visit.
Make sure you go back and get the tooth fixed and/or removed, because if you don't it will blow up on you again. Speaking from experience and no dental insurance.

I know this sounds crazy but it works for some reason.

Try taking a pinch of black pepper and rubbing it on your tooth and gum. It will start to alleviate some of the pain. I've used this method before with good results.
