Michelle Obama:You must serve the government, not vice verca.

The concept is a good one but I do not trust the government being involved. I have spent many years 'serving' in my community and enjoyed doing so.

However, today, I choose to be of service with like minded citizens that want to work together to restore the Constitution of this country and place the 'power' back where it belongs - with The People not the government!

As far as 'the beginning of the end of the rule that the government exists to serve you' goes?? This RULE is the Constitution. Making government smaller and less involved in running our lives. And, the beginning of the end started decades ago.

I just heard a Judge on a radio talk show here in Vegas state that they recieved a letter from our legislatures informing them to be prepared for an increase of juvenile arrests in our court rooms through out the summer.

That all juveniles brought before them are to be offered community service by agreeing to register to serve with "United We Serve" as their only option for community service or full force of the law would be pursued.

As a parent himself, he expressed his concern that while he and his wife are at work, children of all ages roming around, hanging out at the malls, or around town with their friends will be rounded up on false mischief charges forcing those who do not voluntarily register on their own will be mandated to do so pressure by the court system.

I was always under the impression that the Government was "BY the people, FOR the people"

I see now that government is now "BY the government for the government"

I think its time for you guys to stand up, take ur rights back and kick the gov. in the nutz, i dont understand yiou claim to be perfect and this happens, why dont you act , your gov. is an enemy to its own people, you should look at your domestic problems first then maybe look at the worlds problems

Why some people obey these calls ? Because people have a tribal nature - meaning they want to be part of a group of friends where they are appreciated for what they bring and so on. That is good.

A call to war or to serve the "..land" allows them to express that nature. But not as free people - they never learned to be that. They are given the opportunity "to serve" not to "participate" and many just love it - this chance to be part of something, somehow a group of "friends" - this is generally forbidden in the capitalist organization where all relations are impersonal money relations. The last remnant of the tribe being the family or the group of friends - that is kind of a "tribe" for a few hours a week.

First, I'd like to see Obama get the 'full force of the law'' for NOT registering, as the LAW clearly states that every U.S. male registers at the age of 18. He illegally alluded that registration (defiant?) until August 2008, when realizing this could bite him come election day.

I would take this to the Supreme Court if they tried this with my kid. I've never seen a legal reference for this, unless that judge you listened to is on your state's Supreme Court. That's the ONLY way I see this as anything close to legal.

I'd record the audio version, if it's still available somewhere; or at least write down what I could remember of his statement and date it before too much time passes (time fogs memory).

I'd then do everything I could to campaign his ass right out of his seat. Moms play a very pivotal role in the communities. We have contacts in local seats, out the wazooo. Plus we are the first and loudest in our communities. Well, while our children are school age.

Do you have a PTO mom that you can call? I'd be on the phone making serious calls, first thing in the morning.

This Obama is a bonofide HYPOCRIT in every single role and position he hasn't held. But quick to point fingers, pass laws, and punish anyone who's actions resemble his own. Just like the cigarette thing.

He must have personal issues. Seems he's judging and penalizing those who resemble his very own faulty behaviors.

Next, he'll deem everyone's birth certificate a forgery and force us to the back of the immigration line.

If you look at her eyes you can tell she's reading from a teleprompter.

The reason is because many people want to help and volunteer in their communities but do know where to go or who needs help. The premise of this is not evil..sheesh. I know I personally sent in suggestions to create a site that is searchable for volunteer opportunities.

In addition, when I searched by my zip code in serve.gov it took me to another site which was not government. It was a local website where volunteer opportunities are listed.

I think it would be a fare better idea if local municipalities had the same type of website.

Sorry but what she is saying is completely different to what JFK was referring to. JFK at least stated for us to ASK, while Michelle has stated several times that her husband is not going to allow us to return to a normal life, and now this....

There was a speech she made sometime this year in a University, or at the end of last year in which she stated her husband was the first President that was neither a Democrat, nor a Republican. That link is now missing/broken. I had the link saved, but it doesn't work anymore.

There is also the fact that even Emmanuel Rahm has stated that they are going to REQUIRE ALL Americans to do some sort of MANDATORY Community Service, even retired, and disabled Americans will be REQUIRED to do some sort of Community Service.

The current administration is implementing dictatorial Socialist programs such as H.R. 1388 which President Obama signed into law and which REQUIRES children starting from Secondary to do Community Service, and also gives all power over educational and serve programs to something which in the bill is called "The Corporation".

Not only that, but this Corporation can now have some sort of tracking of every American. Oh and BTW the bill says that you will have to serve with NO PAY which = to SLAVERY.

Even 1 hour of MANDATORY SERVICE is = SLAVERY to the STATE = Dictatorial Socialist state

Democrats are trying to pass another bill in which American children starting from primary school will also be REQUIRED to do Community Service.

This is not the U.S.A. known as a representative REPUBLIC anymore. It is being turned into a Dictatorial Socialist regime, or worse.

duh, it will take everyone working together, not just the government "fixing" it for us. Some of you cry that the government is not meant to do everything for us, but then you refuse to step up to the plate yourselves.

I do not find it unreasonable for each and every one of us to step up in our communities to do what we can. I for one volunteer at my children's school. My husband volunteers to coach a soccer team. My 15 year old daughter volunteers at our local animal clinic on the weekends. My 11 year old, helps grandma, who is disabled with as much as he can. He also volunteers by helping younger children with reading every week. What do you do?

Why is it, that when a white man says "And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.

Everyone hoot and hollars in support, and says how great thou art.

But when a black woman says "We cannot do this alone. We all have to do our part"

People go OMG blah blah blah it's the end of the government. Racism? Just hate for the "other" party? (even though I don't see much difference between democrats or republicans) Gotta have SOMETHING to blah blah blah about?

jjkenobi, how about VOLUNTEER service in your community? If everyone in the community volunteered one day year at our school systems, we would not have a shortage of assistance in our school, we would have better schools and more accountability for our school system. Yeah yeah yeah, you pay your taxes and that is all that is necessary right? Let's just throw some more money at it instead of actually DOING something.

Their are a trillion ways that people could step up and volunteer. It does not take much time. For example, people are needed to drive cancer patients to their appointments. Driving someone who has cancer to an appointment once a week or once a month would be such a hardship right?

Oh, but that would be showing compassion for your fellow humans. We can't have that now can we in this corporate USA? Compassion and corporatism, does not go hand in hand obviously.

Come on, we want want want, but don't WANT to volunteer in our communities. OMG that might mean we have to act like we actually care about more than ourselves. And that, my fellow USA citizens, is just not American now is it?

Gorman91, because just saying it is good and leaving it at that, means NOTHING HAPPENS. People then just bury their heads and say "my neighbors can do it". And you know what? MOST people don't even KNOW their neighbors anymore. How many of you can name your neighbors?

You will have no choice. There is at least one bill which President Obama signed into law in which at leat children starting from Secondary school up to high school have to do MANDATORY Community Service, at least 50 hours a year. College students will have to do 100 hours a year, plus at least three months of military training MANDATORY.

Emmanuel tried to claim it is not military training, but he himself said the training will be done in military bases, and then again remember President Obama's speech about the new Civilian force which he wants to be as WELL trained as the military, as well prepared, and as well armed...

Between all of this and Janet Napolitano and the DHS stating that Americans who want to defend and uphold the Constitution, Americans who want to defend their right to own and bear arms, returning veterans, and people who fear COMMUNISM are all "possible terrorists" should be enough evidence for the Obama fans to see the Republic is being transformed into a Dictatorial Socialist regime, or worse.

The current administration doesn't want Americans to have FREEDOM OF CHOICE, among other rights.....
