TED talks: SETI's Jill Tarter on why the search for alien intelligence matters...

Extremely good video although I don't really like the technocratic tone taken during parts of the video. I think it's wrong to look at tribal societies as something below western society. It's telling of western society really... She partially redeems herself though with the 'we are all one' comment although the anti-tribalism comment just before is indicative of her technocratic social bias.

Worth watching.

She made a pretty good speech... I just wish that she hadn't tried endorsing Obama by saying he's all for finding ET too.

We have yet to see any participation on the search for extraterrestrial life coming from the White House.

This guy has a pretty solid reply to this video on youtube...
