~Opposites~
The graves of time are many
As a small child weeps unheard
Racked with agony and tears
His speech is slightly slurred
Taken violently, his mom
Was murdered in cold blood
Such innocence exposed to hate
Is this worlds leafing bud
Somewhere else a laugh is caught
In the twilight air
In this place 2 lovers cuddle
Teasing as they share
The world around them fades away
In ambient emotion
Amnesia binds their hearts and minds
While affection feeds devotion
Separated events unfold
For millions and still more
Where some kind heart is shattered
There is one still adored
Where masses starve and disease kills
Where greed and anger plot
Just the opposite unfolds
Elsewhere caring's brought
Opposites attract they say
So true it seems with life
For as ones gain, is ones loss
Joy can birth from strife
Without despair and hunger too
Would we know satisfaction
Without the night would we know day
Without focus, distraction?
Oh merged we are in this place
With heaven and with hell
But in radical opposites
We know true beauty well
So knowing fear and ugliness
And knowing cries and pain
From knowing all of life's hardships
I now know beauty's claim
From opposites as they come
I learn and I await
And understand with experience
That love can come from hate
From knowing anger and ignorance
I know wisdom and cheer
Without oppositions chance
We might not all be here
Let me tell you through these eyes
Though pain has been my guide
Without it I wouldn't know
What I have past denied
Denial of the lessons learned
Denial of the truth
That suffering, pain and loss
Bring wisdom and hope to soothe
To friends and foes alike
To those misunderstood
Bask in all your moments
For with bad will come good
