Proposed New Law Would Let Police Snoop On What You Do Online

The bill, with the unwieldy name of "An Act Regulating Telecommunications Facilities to Support Investigations," would allow police to force your ISP to hand over any records of your emails, chat room conversations, website history or surfing habits to authorities without a warrant.

So according to the Canadian Government police need near carte blanche access to our internet usage history and habits in order to protect us from the evils of "The Net". No warrent required, police can just waltz into your ISP and demand any and all info on your online activities. The sad part is nobody will even take notice. We will once again just roll over and accept whats coming.

Oh well, then the average Internet User needs to learn how to use the very same methods that Internet Users in other oppressive governments utilize to get around this...assuming you don't already.

Learn how to use Encryption, TOR, and Darknets now!

Sure, the government likes to label people who hide what they are doing using these methods as "pedophiles" or "terrorists", but for the same reason people use envelopes instead of postcards, we should be using Encryption, TOR, and Darknets for your every day mundane needs.

Even if the NSA has broken all available forms of Encryption (supposedly there are some like PGP/GPG that haven't been, but I wouldn't trust that assumption), imagine the resources they would have to spend decrypting every single anonymous and encrypted packet from every single American! Let them waste their time and resources to learn your Aunt May's Secret Recipe for Sinful Chocolate Cake that you emailed to your sister! Eventually, as their time and resources become too tied up in attempting to decipher everything you do on the Internet, the NSA is going to get the point and prioritize their efforts elsewhere.

To be honest I think we have been snooped on for a LLLOOOOOONNNNGGGG time on the internet.
I have just assumed it to be so for the past 5 years.
They don't just find these pedos and illegal file downloaders from a lucky guess.
I'm pretty sure if some geek kid can hack into Nasa the government can obviously do more as and when they wish.

It is for our best, remember, there are thousands, millions, billions of terrorists meaning to harm you.

Don't worry everyone, they might learn something! They couldn't possibly employ enough web police to do that. It's too bigger task.
I like to think that President Obama hasn't got a bad bone in his body and wouldn't dream of sanctioning something like this, unless there was something going on underground that was potentially very evil and detrimental to all of us.
Or if this is true maybe they want to find the Einsteins amongst us, the drop outs that couldn't be bothered for one reason or another to get the bit of paper to say you are gifted or clever! There are geniuses out there, no doubt about it, that don't even know it.

I remember when 9/11 happened and the US government (and ours and others) where making a big deal of stating how the actions of a few should not disrupt us all and our freedoms, and now they have done a complete 180 and are treating us all like terrorists and taking our freedoms to stop a few.
Hypocrites.
The whole government thing needs a complete overhaul, all over the world it is clearly fact that they are all incompetent and the system doesn't work for us.
It benefits rich men in big houses and shiny cars who remain above us all.
I thought the idea of government is they work for us, or at least that's the myth.

So how do I hide my YouTube softcore porn habbits? Oh and my Tiava.com real porn habbits. Oh and not to mention the ATS opinion habbits. They want to know so bad, I will tell them.
"Yea I was lookin at a 18 year old shake her booty, Ilike when they shake it like a salt shaker"
"yes I was online looking for free stuff, its the internet"
"Yea I was online looking for the Anarchist cookbook, times are getting rough, I figure I might as well get a head start"
"Yes I was watching a 500lb fat woman crap in another 500 lb womans mouth, but hey, who doesnt watch that kind of stuff?"
"two girls and a cup, well, I still havent found that video, but Im sure I will someday"
Oh, and btw, I found out how to make meth online, but Im sure you already know that, dont you?
So what are you gunna book me for? Being a pervert who likes to watch ass shake while watching two girls crap in a cup all while learning how to make meth all while posting how I feel on ATS?
Good luck with that. I just watched what was out there already for EVERYONE to see, including yourself officer while your wife is away on a cold dark night. Nobody is perfect.

The police cant even be kept under control, whats to keep the police from just abusing their new power?

When a child is hitting another child over the head with a plastic hammer and refuses to stop, the correct course of action is not to provide a real hammer.

I can't see it happening myself, but then again they could already be doing it. Phones have been bugged for years. The bloke that invented the internet said it should be FREE AND AVAILABLE TO ALL!
I don't think the Police, certainly in this country England would have the man power, resourses or dedication of it's officers to trawl the internet, marrying up all the users and watching people in their private time.
What a #ing boring job! Let's face it most coppers these days or anyone with so called power want to have a fight with you and beat you up or tazer you, not sit at a desk pussyfooting around the net.
Anyway i think it would take too long. Where would they start and with whom? Me, you and why? I'm on here if they are watching and want to know anything.
Want to know some secrets about me?
I am meant to be the most beautiful woman in the world! Ha Ha so i'm always told! Golden ratio and all that...
Get sleep paralysis- yes believe in Aliens and UFO's- have seen them with my own eyes.
Work, yes very hard!
Good stem cells, yes.
Drugs, yes the odd joint- helps with the sleep paralysis- gives me inner strength to tell the aliens to piss off and leave me alone for a bit. THey do and haven't seen them since last year! Gives me a bit of bravado!
Always voted Labour, though most people think i'm tory cos of how i look!
That confuses them, but after a five minute speil from me they wish i was on their side. I have to cliick my fingers to get them out of the trance!!

Anything else the snoopers wish to know? I think that's enough tho don't you.
oh, my hero- Gary Mckinnon! GOOD LUCK GARY, STAY STRONG!

Right after 9/11 I was given a Cease & Desist Order from the FBI for having posted a 15th century Manuscript by Johannes Trithemius on my website. This text was considered "a threat to National Security". At first I protested...how could a 15th century Manuscript concerning esoteric subjects be even remotely a threat to National Security? The FBI told me that I had to remove the English translation of the Manuscript, but I could leave the Latin original. I guess as far as the FBI was concerned, Terrorists only know English and not Latin. (I guess neither the Terrorists nor the FBI have never heard of Babelfish?)

The fact of the matter is that Johannes Trithemius's Steganographia includes a method of simple encryption that the government has been unable to break. (Hint! Hint!)

Rather than risk any future problems or any further Cease & Desist Orders, I just took down all 14 of my websites out of fear of persecution. However, it's not that difficult of a text to find online still. (Hint! Hint!)
