First trial without a jury in the UK.

I have put this up for discussion here:

because it is a current event. But, also, I'd like to see views and opinions here because, to me, it feels somewhat NWOish. I'm seriously hoping that this does not trigger a trend of trying people without a jury being present. Where our legal system can simply and quietly put away offenders it deems unhealthy to the system without any objective oversight.
