Another Technology Upgrade for ATS (Friday downtime planned)

Sounds like fun stuff, it makes me wonder, if you are having multiple servers with SSD and the like now, what will you have to have in place for December 21st 2012, and the time just leading up to it? You might want to ask Google if you can borrow one of their data centers for those few days

Yes and soon you will need the huge servers and space like Google. More people are seeking the truth.

It's hard to imagine the daily hits from non members alone! I can take some of Friday off without panicking that the goverenment interceded the site. Thanks for the warning.

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering what consideration was given towards moving to a cloud based platform. Unless it was over-ridden based on concerns for privacy and control of the data, I know that cloud computing platforms are pretty cost competitive, and robust these days.

I borrowed that screen from our very own ATS Space Opera.

The lights flickered in the ATS HQ for a nanosecond and all was complete.

I caught it. For once i went to log in and it said ats was under maintenance i think. I had to do a double take then i was like oh yeah!
