I read a book called "Angels & Demons" a while back. One of the plot devices was a jet that could fly at 15,000/hr.

Is there anything in development that anyone knows about that could reach this speed?

I thought it sounded so un-credible that it interfered with my enjoyment of the book.

Not that the book wasn't full of incredibilities.

The X-43 was in there... but, it wasn't strongly talked about so that is correct. X-19A added as well.

Thanks, I had no idea.

Shugo, you noted you have made three sightings of the Aurora. I have a couple of questions:

1. Is it reasonable to believe that something like this could be regularly flying around Europe without people noticing?

2. How far away could the sonic boom be heard?

I don't know how far away the sonic boom could be heard I was in the middle of now where in Iowa!

The other well, I don't know... I don't live in Europe. But, in my opinion... possibly.

Do the make Loud-O-Meters now?!
I gotta get one.

Seriously... this was in a County Park... I don't know how far the sonic boom could be heard... all I know is that it was very loud. Don't wanna hear that again unless I'm in it.

Hmm this brings up something, while I was in Europe, I have not noticed any top secret military projects, but one night I happen to notice a flashing light that stood out from the others up in the night sky, in less than a blink of an eye, it zoomed with increasing speed across the night sky never to be seen.

I do not know what it was, but other would not believe me, figures :\.
