White supremacist groups are not new to the scene.
The Wounded Knee massacre took place December 29, 1890, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The massacre was precipitated when the Seventh Cavalry of the U.S. Army tried to disarm a group of about 500 Lakota Sioux under the leadership of Chief Big Foot. During the contentious process of disarming, a shot was fired. After this, the army began a merciless slaughter. Within hours, the Seventh Cavalry killed between 270 and 300 of Big Foot's people. Of these, 170 to 200 were women and children. The army killed a few men who were fighting back, but the large majority of Lakotas were destroyed while trying to flee or hide. In a few instances, soldiers shot Lakotas at point blank range, three or more miles from the place the firing began.

This has been going on for years, this is not news.
When I was in basic training in 1999 we had a guy get kicked out for some questionable tatoos. Apparently he made it through MEPS due to the tatoos not being well known at the time.
Around 2002 when I was stationed at Fort Hood, we had a wanna be Aryan nations member in my battalion.
When I was stationed in Germany in 2004 we had another Aryan nations guy in the unit.
The US military for the most part is a reflection of society. Your going to find at least one white supremacist in every unit.
That said we had far more racist hispanics and african americans with past gang affiliation. [edit on 15/6/09 by MikeboydUS]

I was in from 92-96. During that time I met two actual skinhead/Nazi types. i actually met more racist blacks and Hispanics who were members of gangs or questionable organizations like Nation of Islam before they joined, and many still spouted out the same crap with impunity.
