It's over, guys, it's over.

Thank God!

www.foxnews.com...

Upon pressing "1," you are transferred to a "warranty specialist" who lies to you, telling you he is affiliated with an automobile dealer or manufacturer and that your warranty is up. And before long, you may have agreed to put $450 down on an extended service contract that costs up to $3,000, the balance to be paid in monthly payments.

It's over, they caught the four men, and three companies behind it, follow the link to see the a hole, who called me in an interview, during other things, from odd numbers!

I'm actually kind of sad, i'll miss getting so mad, but hey the gov't was getting them too apparently! So of course eventually it had to be stopped, only two years later.

Well they made roughly ten million dollars off peoples ignorance, so that's impressive.

I had just bought a used car from autotrader, and at least 5 minutes later I was driving off and got a phone call, I was furious, and it was funny too just because of the timing.

It's very probably, GM= Government Motors.

Hey, if you can make money off offering nothing, it's not so bad, although, you'll be lynched.

The gov't would probably just send letters saying you owe more taxes, and new back taxes! YAY!

The first ebay sale was a broken laser pointer, sold for 12.50.... people will buy anything.

I have learned the hard way to be critical of anything regarding money that I did not originate myself. In Texas, you can be charged personal property taxes on a vehicle you are leasing, but only if you are using said vehicle for business for 50% or more of the road time. I got snail mail from some random third party stating they were the official collection agency for property taxes. I turned around and checked the state comptroller's office and found that I was indeed exempt since it is a private use vehicle. I shudder to think how much money I would have lost if I paid the fake collectors.

Just because they caught some people doesn't mean we're going to stop getting calls and emails. I got one this morning.

I'm 17 and I've never taken a driver's ed course. I haven't the slightest clue of how to drive.

In fact, nobody in my family has a license or a permit. We still get the calls, even on our cell phones.

Oh really?

Well then, we can only hope that the vast majority of the calls are gone!

Try putting your phone number on a Do Not Call List, it's on a .gov site so it's legit!

I notice my calls were cut 75% from those people after I did this.

i was working on a ship in jacksonville fla and had a landline. telemarketers called to try and sell crap all the time. satellite installations to new roofs.

this is a 163' ex noaa boat (noaa ship pierce, the sister ship was the whiting) that was being retrofitted into a private yacht. this lady calls up and trys to sell vinyl siding. we keep telling her its a boat, and shes like YEA, STILL WANT THE SIDING FOR IT? omg one freaking wave and its all gone!!

we got a good laugh out of it. told her to come on out and give an estimate....

LMAO, did she ever come out and give an estimate?

Obviously their not professionals. Even that one guy, monthly premium 50 bucks and they'll exchange any part on the 35 year old car..... Makes for a great antique!

Well at least a large percentage of them are gone. Breathes a sigh of relief.

Makes that one guys SXWC or however it's put together, a little lest interesting though.
