Taxpayers foot bill for war blood money

www.news.com.au

TAXPAYERS have paid out more than $350,000 in "honour payments" to families of locals accidentally killed or injured by Australian troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Dozens of non-combatants have been shot by Diggers since the Iraq campaign began in April 2003.

Rapid "act of grace" payments can prevent revenge attacks. Defence refuses to divulge how much is paid to each family but has told The Daily Telegraph $126,442 had so far been paid out to Afghani families.

Firstly my taxes are being wasted for Aussie troops to be in the region.

Secondly my taxes are being wasted to pay the families of dead civillans, killed by the 'heroic' Aussie 'diggers'.

Unreal.

Blood money it is. I hope someone is keeping score on how much this war on terra is really costing. Remember, for every dollar spent, someone's making a profit.
