PYONGYANG, June 13 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Saturday blasted South Korea's military buildup near the border and vowed to respond in kind.

"It is the steadfast stand of the DPRK to return fire for fire," the official KCNA news agency cited a spokesman for the Committee of the Peaceful Reunification of Korea as saying.
