Now, onto the images, as mentioned it is an effect created by the camera when it gets an information overload, meaning it can't process that much
Try staring at the sun to get a similar result.
As you can see it's a fairly common occurrence:
Be very wary of what ANW puts out, they don't bother with fact checking.
Which again is blatantly obvious from this thread.
