NYSE server issue halts trading in GE and other shares

The exchange said in a brief alert on its Website that the issue was related to a server problem. There was no immediate additional comment from the NYSE.

I wonder if it really is what they say it is.

Is it a Chinese hack attack?
Or some bad news came in?

Either way I 100% surely can say that redundant systems do not usually go offline like this for a simple reason.

I'll be watching the numbers today and monday....these are MAJOR stocks, it seems quite odd that they all got halted at the same time.

Protecting against some sort of crash, perhaps?

Yes protection could be a possibility. These days I find it really hard to put things down to normal reasons

I am betting this is a hack job. But, could be protecting a run on the stocks as well.
