I really didn't understand him at all until I saw him live at a theatre I worked at in Aberdeen in the late '80's. It's the only time I've ever seen adults...men and women...literally rolling in the aisles, clearly worried about their bladder continence. I think he was talking about swimming in the sea at Aberdeen beach at the time, and it struck a chord.

My Father and his family were from Ayr and I was born there, although my parents moved south when I was just two. I haven't been back for many years now but it sure is a lovely place and I'll have to pay a visit again sometime.
